Central Idea: We can express feelings and communicate meaning through different stories”

Group 1 will discuss about the character of the story

Group2: beginning, middle and the end

Central Idea: Family and friends play a role in our lives

 

Tuning in of friends through read aloud of stories.

 

Revision of:

Types of families

Roles, responsibilities, Independent, dependent and interdependent within family members.

 

Introduction of: Venn diagram [Integrated with math concept].For eg: Teacher made the venn diagram of nuclear and joint family,mother and father,brother and sister, friend and sibling etc.

Language:

Introduction of multiple instructions through worksheets.

Introduction of writing through Sky grass land concept in red and blue lines.

Revision of letter ‘g, h,i,j,k,l’ through different manipulative like flashcards, objects,videos etc.

Important Points:-

 

 

  • We will be sending the workbooks (language\math)  every week for homework. Kindly help your child to complete the given homework and send the workbook back on immediate next day without fail(if book is send on Monday then send the book back on next day ie Tuesday and if the book is send on Friday then send the book on Monday).
  • We will not be sending any reminders, please be regular in sending the book back to school, otherwise your child will miss out on class work.
  • Kindly note the homework: language Workbook pg:- 80,82

 

 

  • Kindly practice recognition,sound and association of the small letters a-j with your ward. Kindly note we are focusing only on the small alphabets, so please do the same at home. Capital letters will be done later in the year.
  • Practice recognition, association and forward counting of numbers [1-13] regularly with your child.
  • Please send 2 lap size napkins regularly in the school bag and keep the lunch box and napkin in 1 small carry bag. (Kindly ignore if you are already sending it in this manner)
  • Kindly sign in diary for note/circular. Also take out circular from the diary.Please mention about the things sent ( objects, library books) etc. in diary.(When you send to teacher)
  • Try to do more of fine motor skills activities with your child at home, it will help them develop their writing skills.
  • If your child is reflecting about his/her learning at home then please inform the respective HRT (home room teacher) through mail or communication diary. Please keep a track of your child’s progress/learning.

Dice letter game : learners were asked to roll a dice which had different letters printed on it, which ever letter viewed on the top after rolling, they had to identify the letter , go to that letter on the flex pick up the object and relate to the sound and association of that letter.

Circle Time :

UOI 3: Transport.

Central idea: Transportation can connect communities near and far.

Activities done this week:

 

Introduction of Air route:

Learners were introduced with the air route vehicles: Aeroplane and Helicopter.

They were introduced with different words like: Takeoff, Landing, Runway etc.

 

Field trip:

The young learners were taken for a field trip to the Traffic Park ,where they were asked to observe  the Traffic Signs like School ahead, Hospital Ahead, No Parking, Parking, Bump Ahead, Petrol Pump Ahead.

 

Revision of land route :

Through flashcards and videos, teacher revised the land route vehicles like truck, motorcycle, train, ambulance, fire engine, etc and gave a brief explanation about the uses of land transport. Learners watched videos and revised the knowledge about land transport and reflected on the same during discussion time.

They revised the safety rules of Bus, car and petrol pump.

Word of the week:   Air Route, take off, runway

Integration of UOI with Language:

Visual skills: Learners were asked to observe flash cards of different vehicles.

Speaking skills :Learners were asked to share their views during discussion time.

Listening skills: Learners were shown different land route vehicle videos.

 

Integration of UOI with Visual Arts:

Learners made a picture of Bus through sticking different colour papers and they were asked to reflect the safety rules of Bus.

 

UOI:2 Play

Central idea: We play to explore and have fun.

Activities done this week:

 

Free play:

Learners were given different toys like doll house, wooden blocks,kitchen set and soft toys and were asked to play on their own. They explored all the toys and started playing games like ‘ghar-ghar’ and demonstrated the attitude: Cooperation. By playing with wooden blocks learners exhibited the attitude: Creativity and made things like a farm, buildings, train , etc from wooden blocks.

  • Teacher did read aloud of the various stories:

This activity helped in enhancing their listening skills and vocabulary.


Listening & Visual skills

Learners were asked to see various action videos and do the actions accordingly.

This activity helped in enhancing their viewing, listening and gross motor skills and helped in developing their vocabulary.

 

MATH:

Revision of Pre math concepts taught till date.

Revision of Quantification and Patterns through manipulatives.

 

Important note:

 

  • Parents kindly take a note that from Monday 17th November, kids will stay in the school till 3:30 P.M. Send heavy snacks in their tiffin and send one extra pair of clothes.
  • Kindly converse with your child in English and  encourage them to converse in English.
  • If your child is reflecting at home, then please inform the respective HRT (home room teacher) through the blog or communication diary.
  • Kindly send napkins everyday in their bag.
  • HW for the week is UOI ( Land route transport )worksheet.
  •  Kindly read the blog regularly and send the asked resources for the activities.
