Language:

Write any two naming wordsÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â (nouns), twoÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â action words (verbs), two describing words (adjectives), two pairs of opposite words, two pares of rhyming words and two sound words in the language notebook.

Important note:

Bedding arrangement will be available for the students at the nature camp, the students can bring bed sheets if they want.

New vocabularies: threaten – scary, fiction – unreal/imagination, non-fiction – real, fierce – angry and wild
Language:
Learners learnt new words and wrote 3 times in the notebook. Words are: over, sentence, little, went, answer, study, Earth, planets, wish and shade.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â They were explained the meaning of the same and they orally framed sentences using the above words.Learners tried to identify the parts of speech of the new words.
Language Development:Learners revised the grammar concepts from their LWE reference book.
Math:
Learners demonstrated their understanding of addition sums by using different manipulative like tooth picks/ rubber bands/ clay/ montiero cubes/ jodo blocks and rangometry. They were divided in groups of 4 by using a grouping strategy. They solved the given sums using the above resources.

UNIT OF INQUIRY:
Learners read all the 6 TDTs and tried to guess the TDT of the current unit.
Learners reflected their understanding by attending a worksheet on “What Earth is … Earth has… and Earth can…. “
Homework: Language notebook: Write 8 sentences using different prepositions. You can also draw pictures along with the sentence for the better understanding of the position.
NOTE:Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â  We will be conducting poem recitation on 1st December so please prepare your child for the same.

• To check their prior knowledge, discussion on appearance of sun, moon and stars was taken. They also discussed what are planets and their names.

[Math]

• Roll no. 7 read a book ‘ I Will Teach My Dog 100 Words’ written by Michael Frith.
• Read a bookÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â  ‘The Recess Queen’ written by Alexis O’ Neil.

[Language]

• Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Empowering English- Chapter 3- ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œI wish I were a treeÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â :-Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Learners orally discussed the differences and similarities between ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œCrowÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â and ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œFlyÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â given in the exercise in this reference book. The points were written in the graphic organizer- Venn diagram on the board.

[Math]

Learners learntÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â  Splitting strategy of addition. They solved several examples orally using this strategy. They also did the same in their math notebook.

Splitting method: Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â eg:

 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â  23 + 5420+3 + 50+4 70 + 7=77

NOTE: This is a mental math strategy which will help them to do the calculations faster.

Learners discussed about day and night view of the sky. They also discussed how day and night occurs. They were shown a video and based on that they concluded that rotation of Earth on itÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s own axis causes day and night.

Learners enhanced their oral and aural skills.They discussed different ways of greeting others.
