Ticketing System – Non adherence to Transport Policy

Dear Parents,

As a school value we place a great emphasis on respect for students, parents and the school staff and also expect the same. The school expects high standards of behavior from parents within or outside the schools premises as they are role models for the children. But it has been observed that in certain  situations, parents do not adhere to the value and start misbehaving that compromise or demean the dignity of individuals or groups.

We expect parents to show respect and concern for transport policy and staff. In order to promote peaceful environment in school & bus, we are going to start “Ticketing System”  w.e.f. 29th  Nov, 2014.

What is Ticketing System: In case of any misconduct done by a parent with regards to transport policy or misbehaviour with transport staff will be issued a ticket (please refer to the attachment) for each instance.

General Violations includes:  

  • Misbehaving or using abusive language with school staff/ student/ parent.
  • Stopping vehicle in front of the bus.
  • Forcing transport staff to allow student board the bus other than the assigned stops.
  • Wrong parking in school including outside school premises.
  • Exceeding speed limit in the parking lot. (above 15 kmph)
  • Honking in school premises.
  • Causing damage to school bus/property.

Consequences for Unacceptable Behavior:

The above mentioned behaviors will be reported to the appropriate authorities and parent will be issued misdemeanor tickets for misbehavior.

Once a ticket is issued to the parent, the following action will be taken:

  • 1st Instance – Warning note issued to the parent in written (A ticket will be issued and directly given to the parent or will be sent through communication diary with their child)
  • 2nd Instance – Warning note issued to the parent in written (A ticket will be issued and directly given to the parent or will be sent through communication diary with their child)
  • 3rd Instance – Fine of Rs. 1000/- (as mentioned in the Code of Conduct Policy)
  • 4th instance – Decision will be taken as per the discretion of school management.

In case of any issue/concern related to transport department, we strongly suggest to all parents to write in the communication diary or send an email to surat@fountainheadschools.org.

Gr.8_Eng_Highlights of the week and homework_Verve and Vivacity

Tuning in activity for the poetry unit was done. Students were asked to think about a recent choice they had made and how do they feel about it. They were asked to think about what was the outcome of their choices and if given a chance what would they do differently.  It then led to the introduction of the poem “The Road Not Taken’, by Robert Frost. Students were then asked to read and even recite the poem in groups.

Further they were guided with comprehension and analysis of the theme of the poem.

Students were also given slots for book club presentations and for rewriting and practice their speeches for the upcoming internal assessment to be held next week.

Homework:

Memorize your speeches as you won’t be getting class time to do so.

Grade 7 Idea – English Highlights and Homework for the week

Students discussed the first 2 chapters from the reader ‘Bridge to Terabethia’ and analyzed the character with their feelings, actions, behavior, and dialogues. They also discussed the relationship of the character with each other and how does it unravel the themes of the book. An analysis based question on relationship was taken up in class to teach the students on how to attempt analytical question. Students were taught on how to understand what the question is asking for while highlighting key words. Then they were asked to plan out the answer by writing all they know on the matter and finally organised the answer descriptively, yet comprehensively.

Students also had discussions over the homework and workbook exercises.

Dear all,

This week, we learnt how to use verb ‘vendre’ and other verbs ending with -re. We identify items sold in the different kinds of shops in a city.

We practice also expression of quantity and did a lot of listening and even role play about buying foods in a shop.

Next week, we will do more speaking practice and started verbs ending

-ir in present tense.
