UOI 1: “How we express ourselves”

Central Idea: We can express feelings  and communicate meaning
through different stories”

Introduction of emotions:- Learners were given exposure of different emotions (happy, sad,angry, excited, surprise,scared)through various activities.

UOI 2:  “Who We Are”

Central Idea: Family and friends play a role in our lives

Revision of types of families, roles and responsibilities of family members, importance of family and friends in our live.

Language:

Revision of letters and their sound from ‘g to p’
Language skill book writing- letter “g”

Math:

Revision of number till 15 with all number operations( forward\backward counting, association, greater\less than, more\less and before\after numbers) .

Revision of AABB rule pattern.
Math skill book-  writing of number “4”
FMS:

My Skill Book and coloring worksheets
Abacus
Forward & backward counting through ‘Abacus’ in pair.

Important Points:-

  • We will be sending the workbooks (language\math) on every week for homework. Kindly help your child to complete the given homework and send the workbook back on immediate next day without fail(if book is send on Monday then send the book back on next day ie Tuesday and if the book is send on Friday then send the book on Monday).
  • We will not be sending any reminders, please be regular in sending the book back to school, otherwise your child will miss out on class work
  • Please avoid taken leaves as we are taking assessments.
  • Kindly practice recognition, sound and association of the small letters [a-p] with your ward. Kindly note we are focusing only on the small
    alphabets, so please do the same at home. Capital letters will be done later in the year.
  • Practice recognition, association and forward and backward counting and after before numbers [1-15] regularly with your child.
  • Please send 2 lap size napkins regularly in the school bag and
    keep the lunch box and napkin in 1 small carry bag. (Kindly ignore if you are already sending it in this manner)
  • Kindly sign in diary for note/circular. Also take out circular
    from the diary. Please mention about the things sent ( objects, library books) etc. in diary.(When you send to teacher)
  • If your child is reflecting about his/her learning at home then
    please inform the respective HRT (home room teacher) through mail or communication diary. Please keep a track of your child’s progress/learning.

Circle Time :

Revision of the rhymes till date.

 

UOI 3: Transport.

Central idea: Transportation can connect communities near and far.

Activities done this week:

Revision of Water route  Transport:

Through flashcards and videos, teacher introduced water route vehicles like boat, ship, cruise ship, submarine and gave a brief explanation about the uses of water transport. Learners watched videos and revised about water transport and reflected on the same during discussion time.

 

Revision of Air Route Transport:

Through flashcards and videos, teacher revised the air route vehicles like Aeroplane, Helicopter, Rocket, Parachute and gave a brief explanation about the uses of air transport. Learners watched videos and revised the knowledge about air transport and reflected on the same during discussion time.

 

Revision of land route :

Through flashcards and videos, teacher revised the land route vehicles like truck, motorcycle, train, ambulance, fire engine, etc and gave a brief explanation about the uses of land transport. Learners watched videos and revised the knowledge about land transport and reflected on the same during discussion time.

They revised the safety rules of Bus, car and petrol pump.

 

Integration of UOI with Language:

Visual skills: Learners were asked to observe flash cards of different vehicles.

Speaking skills :Learners were asked to share their views during discussion time.

Listening skills: Learners were shown different videos related to transportation.

Unit:3 How we express ourselves

Central idea: We play to explore and have fun.

 

Activities done this week:

 

Sports day:

Learners  performed on different activities where they enhanced their Gross motor skills.

This event helped in building their interest into physical activities.

 

Language:

This activity helped in enhancing their listening skills and vocabulary.

 

Listening & Visual skills

Learners were asked to see various action videos and do the actions accordingly.

This activity helped in enhancing their viewing, listening and gross motor skills and helped in developing their vocabulary.

 

MATH:

Learners were introduced with Quantification of number 9 & 10.

Teacher asked each child to collect 9 or 10 objects like jodo blocks, rangometry, blocks etc from the basket.

This activity helped in enhancing their thinking skills.

Revision of Quantification tii number 8 and Patterns through manipulatives.

 

Play based activities

POP exploration:

Learners were given POP (Plaster of paris) And were asked to explore it. Later teacher added water in it and they were asked to make different shapes from it.

They enjoyed this activity.

It helped in enhancing their fine motor skills.

 

Free play:

Learners were given different toys like: Wooden blocks, Soft toys, Kitchen set, Rangometris, Jodo blocks and were asked to play with it.

They enjoyed playing with the toys and mingled up with their friends.

This activity helped in enhancing their Social skills.

 

Important note:

 

 

  • We would like to appreciate the parents who have shared their child’s reflection through communication diary and email.  Hope to receive more reflections.
  • Kindly note homework of the week is Math pattern worksheet.
  • Kindly converse with your child in English and  encourage them also to do so.
  • If your child is reflecting at home, then please inform the respective HRT (home room teacher) through the blog or communication diary.
  • Kindly send napkins and an extra pair of clothes everyday in their bag.

Dear students

I have shared a folder ( Help line video for Assessment )  with you in which you will find a story without music . You have to search appropriate background music which will enhance the dialogue and  drama.
I have also shared 3 videos with all of you. These videos will help you understand the following:-
Video 1 =  how to use Google drive ( uploading, downloading and extracting files from Zip file, How to play audio track etc.  )
Video 2 and 3   =  How to use Audacity – Importing an audio file and editing and mixing the same, adding special effects and how to save the audio file in to mp3 format
Video 4 – How to convert You Tube video to mp3 format
I hope this videos will help you in completing your assessment task.
You are expected to be ready with a few things for the day of assessment  :-  music tracks which you want to use for your drama, please save them in your drive folder which I have shared with you.

Students finished 4 chapters from the reader ‘Bridge To Terabithia’ and discussed about the unique friendship that is evolving between Jess and Leslie and their secret resort of Terabithia. Students made a sketch about how they imagined their Terabithia to be like and brought in pictures of their friends to show what friendship means to them.

Homework

To be done in your Language notebooks. Due on Monday, 15th Dec.

Q. Describe how Jess and Leslie first met? What happened then? Was it (meeting) important to Jess? Why or why not?

Q. Leslie beat Jess in the race. Describe Jess’s feelings and behaviour just after the race and how it changed with time. As a reader, why do you think there was a shift in Jess’s behavior with Leslie?

Q. What are are the evidences of Jess’s transformation that we see happening in these chapters? What change has he gone through til now?
