Day 4

Learners made an Acrostic poem of their section’s name. It was done as a whole class activity.Students were active and enthusiastic in making the acrostic poem on their section they came upwith different adjectives to describe the same.

Teacher did a revision of ‘Attitudes‘ in the class which is followed by school.

Teacher did a revision of all PYP attributes followed by explanations and connection between  IB MISSION STATEMENT and our SCHOOL’S MISSION STATEMENT. Students understood and connected the Learner profiles  with the same.

They prepared their  birthday chart and   decorated the class door also.

Homework :

Prepare a personal bulletin board (if not submitted)

Kindly submit the summer homework tomorrow without fail .

Write an acrostic poem on your name.Color paper sent for the same.

Learners discussed and framed essential agreements so that our class runs smooth throughout the year.

They also did a role-play on policies. They further brain-stormed on framing class mission statement.

Learners collaborated enthusiastically for their team presentation.

An exciting workshop- NDTV Programme

Dear Students,

NDTV has designed a Video Educational Programme for students to bring out their creativity and enhance their communication through video production. NDTV Experts will train the students on camera, video editing software and  presentation skills. Students will be trained using state of art equipment. The students are being trained on the camera and software by NDTV experts.

 

Programme includes: (Details taken from NDTV website)

  1. Training:

Workshop will be conducted by NDTV experts for 3 days. They will train the students on both the camera and editing software and also teach them presentation skills and the basics of script writing. At the end of the training workshop on day 3, the students will be divided into groups and each group will script, shoot and edit their own short video.

NDTV has designed a Media Kit with state of the art professional equipment which has been imported and specially put together for schools. Students will work using  this state of art equipment. School will buy the kit which will be used by students  later for several internal purposes.The kit will benefit the students in more ways than one.

  1. Follow up:

Professionals from NDTV will conduct a follow up session after the one time training, to address all the problems being faced by the students. At all times the NDTV trainers will be available on the phone and emails.

  1. NDTV Office Visit:

Students participating in the SCHOOL TV programme will also be taken on a guided tour of the NDTV office and studios at New Delhi. During the visit students will get to experience the newsroom buzz first hand, see how LIVE news bulletins are done and also have a unique opportunity to meet renowned media personalities.

  1. Web Plan:

SCHOOL TV will have a dedicated  website to promote the programme www.ndtv-schooltv.com. All student videos will be uploaded on the SCHOOL TV website.

  1. On Air:

NDTV will invite schools to make short films on relevant issues. NDTV jury will shortlist the best entries. Shortlisted films would be aired on NDTV in half an hour show on best effort basis.

 

Registrations details:

  1. Dates: 14-15-16 August, 2015. (4-5 hours each day). This workshop is for students of Grade 7 to 12.
  2. Friends and siblings from other school can also join (Only students of Grade 7 to 12). 
  3. Cost: Rs. 7000/- per student. Amount should be paid through cheque in favour of FOUNTAINHEAD EDUCATION TRUST.
  4. Please note that the minimum number of participants required are 20. If we do not receive 20 registrations we will not go ahead with this workshop.
  5. Last date to submit the cheque is 30 June 2015.

Grade 5, Coalition, Highlights and homework for 11th June, 2015

We began the day discussing the homework followed by discussion and self-checking of  Summer Vacation (Math) homework.

We also presented the class mission statement to our friends of other sections of Grade 5.

Homework:

Learn spellings of all the 8 sections of Grade 5 and also learn their meanings. We will be having a dictation of the same tomorrow.

Highlights

1. Homework discussion was taken in the class.

2. Learners started solving Math Revision worksheet in the class.

3. Read aloud catering to the learner profile; Open-Minded was done in the class by the teacher followed by a short discussion of the same. Learners then gave their inputs regarding the same while preparing display.

MATH –  Complete worksheet 3 of the Math revision worksheets.

LANGUAGE –  Complete the first Poem comprehension (6 questions) of the Language revision worksheets given in the class today.

Settling Task:-Students wrote about 3 things they liked in their new class room.

Learners wrote reflection on the movie “Chicken Run” focussing on the 7 habits.

Few policies were discussed with them. (e.g: food/uniform etc)

Acrostic poem was made for the section along with the students.

Homework

Students have to make an acrostic poem on their name on the paper given & search the meaning of the Inspire & write on the paper.

Day 4

1. The  Math summer holiday homework was discussed in the class and self checking was done by the learners.

2. The learners started worksheet 2 of the Math revision worksheets.

3.The learner profiles – Open minded, Caring, Thinker and responsible and  attitudes – Respect, tolerance, empathy and responsibility were discussed in the class and then learners made charts for the same.

Homework :

MATHS –  Complete the remaining part of worksheet 2 of the Math revision worksheets.

LANGUAGE –  Complete the first Poem comprehension (6 questions) of the Language revision worksheets given in the class today.

These essentials have been finalized keeping in mind the needs of the students for the entire academic year. It is expected that these items should be sufficient for the academic session.

Please note that if the student misplaces/ finishes any of these things, it will have to be provided by the parents or bought from the school at an extra cost.

We have kept all the note books in the class and we will send them home as and when required. Please send the books back the next day itself with the task completed, if assigned.

3. Read aloud catering to the learner profiles; Caring and Thinker, was done in the class by the teacher followed by a short discussion of the same. Learners then prepared displays in groups for the same. They were also able to relate it to the attitude viz. . Respect
