Introduction Of Sorting- Jr. KG Indigo

Introduction Of Sorting- Jr. KG Indigo

Learners were introduced to the concept of sorting by piling up their belongings in the centre of the classroom instead of keeping them in their respective places. When they saw a pile of bags, tiffin and bottles , they started to exclaim their dislike towards the same. When they were asked “Why don’t you like when things are out in a pile like this?” Learners responded by saying, ” If we keep things this way, we won’t be able to find our things. And we should keep bags, tiffin sand bottles separately.”  They then sorted and kept their own belongings in their respective places. And this was how they were introduced to the term and concept of sorting!

Sock Sorting! – Jr. KG Indigo

Sock Sorting! – Jr. KG Indigo

After the read aloud of the story ‘A pair of socks’ by Edward Murphy, learners were led to a pile of different socks brought by them from home. Each of the learners recollected their own sock and found its respective pair. Through this learning engagement, learners enhanced their sorting skills. They also enhanced their oral skills by exclaiming, “Oh! I found my pair!”

I would really like to appreciate all the parents who had sent a pair of socks with their child for the activity. You are all proactive!!👍🏼👏🏼
