In June, we did about food shopping and in grammar the regular verbs ending -er, -ir, -re in present tense and we did also partitive articles in positive and negative sentence, and with expression of quantity.

In July, we will continue about city. We will study about public transport and the problems in Surat.

Highlights and Homework.

Day-3, Monday.

UOI :

Learners recalled all the topics catered in the previous session. Students   discussed that people work together towards a common goal. e.g. school’s common goal is to provide education. They discussed the roles and responsibilities of different people working in the school. They came up with the  word ‘organization’ and discussed that school is an organization where people work together.They talked about the hierarchy in school and made learnt what is hierarchy and flowchart. They also made Fountainhead school hierarchy in their UOI notebooks.

Language:

Few cards were given which were categorized as – characters, plot, settings, etc. The learners randomly picked few of each(3 characters, 2 plot and 1 setting) and wrote a story. They used the elements of a story i.e beginning, middle and end.  Also the connecting words and phrases they have learnt in the previous sessions.

Math : Learners practiced addition and subtraction sums in their notebook.

Homework :

Lang : Write any one story keeping 5 elements of story in the mind as per BME Model.

[Unit Of Inquiry]

Learners recalled all the topics catered in the previous session of a read aloud of the book ‘School’. After that teacher took further the inquiry by  making connections to the TDT and all the LOI’s with it as an Organization. Later, she introduced a flowchart of the school hierarchy.

Language

Lang : Teacher revised BME Model(Beginning,Middle & End) with the learners along with 5 elements of the story(Plot,Setting,Characters,Problem,Solution).

Language Development:Learners revised all the grammar concepts through Language with Ease reference book.

Homework

Learners have to make a  hierarchy flowchart for grade 3.

Learning engagement : Learners practised expansion of numbers into tens and ones and wrote the same in their notebooks. Dodging of numbers were taken in the class.

Learning intention : To help students understand the relation between numbers.

Language:

The students had a discussion on:  Jonas’ community has a lot of rules. Do you think that’s good or bad? They had to justify their opinion and were introduced to the Debating skills where they had to make connections with the process of decision making and characteristics of good governance. We also talked about the Speaker’s Etiquette and the poster is displayed in the class. The students will soon have a Debate in the class, which they are already looking forward to!

Homework

Language:

 

1.Prepare for the debate by writing down the points in favour or against the proposition.

Jonas’s  community has lots of rules. Do you think its good or bad? Justify.

Every student should have few points for the team they are in. Write your points in Language notebook so that you can share them with your team tomorrow and help the speakers.

2. Making a list of rules that Jonas’s community has in your online Journal.

3. Please start reading Chapter 6-10 from The Giver and get ready for another Quiz.

Highlights

Learners started off their day enjoying the tune of a song called ” On the melancholy hills” by Gorillaz.

Language

Learners Discussed the meanings of the 10 new words that were introduced to them on day 2. Also learners played the game “Dumb sheraz” where they enacted Verbs (actions words).
