TDT: Where we are in place and time
Central Idea:Learning about previous generations helps people understand the relationship between the past and the present.
As we are moving forward in our unit, learners are given opportunities to gain clear understanding of different concept through various activities. During one such activity, they understood the meaning of the word Ã¢â‚¬Å“ConnectionÃ¢â‚¬Â.
They were given paper glass phones to play in a pair. While they were enjoying telephone-telephone, they were provoked with questions like: what were they doing, how were they able to hear each other through the toy, how did the voice reach to the other person and so on. Through this discussion they came up to the understanding that the glasses were Ã¢â‚¬Å“connectedÃ¢â‚¬Â to each other with a string. This made them understand word connection.
Later they gave many examples where they found connections like: mother and child, pencil and eraser, paper and pen, tv and remote, electricity and light/fan, white board and marker pen etc.
