Language: Students listened to the song on Gratitude : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO2o98Zpzg8 and answered questions given in the poetry work book.

UOI: Students played the Well-being Snail game and understood the various factors necessary for well-being.

Homework: 

UOI: Complete the I-wall questions based on your understanding of well-being from Snail game.

Language: Complete the questions on pg 8 and 9 of Poetry work book.

Note: Do not bring Chromebook tomorrow.

Day 2 – Monday

UOI

Learners revised the concepts done earlier. The central Idea for the unit was unpacked.  They made connections between SUO, Amul, Lijjat papad and School as an organization, and  what were the purposes behind starting these organizations.

Language

Learners read and discussed the chapter “The dinosaur who had no friends”. They underlined and wrote down the new words they learnt in this chapter in their language notebooks. They also discussed and wrote down the first two question and answer of this chapter.

Homework

Find out and write down the meanings of the new words learnt today.  Also write down the next two answers of the chapter “The dinosaur who had no friends” in your language notebooks.

First field trip of this year!!!!!!

Dear parents,

The learners visited a nuclear family for the field trip today. After the field trip and discussion they understood the term ‘Nuclear family’ and also what are the different roles and responsibilities of the different family members. They demonstrated to be Inquirers when they asked questions to the family members.Sharing a few glimpses of the same.

Highlights and homework of 13th july 2015

Highlights:-

1.Language : The teacher discussed the homework and made a mind map of Virat Kohli  on the board. She then used the same mind map and wrote a biography in approximately 100 words, on the board. Learners copied  the biography in their Language writing notebook.

Math : Learners revised Indian and International number names and place value by solving sums in the class.

U.O.I:-Time-line of  explorers were prepared by the teacher on the soft board where learners understood how the things have changed over a period of time.

Homework:-

Language:- Find out 10-12 facts about any one famous personalities – Bill Gates, Narendra Modi, J.K.Rowling, Kiran Bedi, Satish Gujral and make a mind map of the facts in your Language writing notebook.

Math:-Solve following sums in your Math notebook:

A) 9851 people are going to the zoo. There are 47 vans to take people to the zoo. How many will go in each van if the same number go in each van and all of the people go to the zoo?

B) Jainam was walking in the park and saw a flock of 8,362 birds flying. How many total wings were in the flock?

Respected parents and students

Those who are interested for badminton school games competition kindly register your name to Akhil Gujarati / Krushi Desai. The category for Girls and Boys are as follows:-

under 14 (Grade 6 to 8)

under 17 (Grade 9 and 10)

under 19 (grade 11 and 12)

The selections for under-14 will be on day 4 i.e 15/07/15 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 at Gymnasio (Indoor PE area).

For under 17 & 19 students have to meet the respected coaches on day 4 i.e 15/07/15 during their play time.

Note: It is compulsory to bring your badminton kit along with you. Students of grade 6 have to give their name by tomorrow day 3 14/07/15 to the respected coaches for doing stay back for selections. Once the selection procedure is done than no other entries or requests for re-selection will be entertained.

The Learners were introduced to the new activities in the math learning center like  sorting  of pencils according to the size (big & small) , sorting of books ( big &small) , counting and association of numbers, sorting of stones & buttons etc. Here are the glimpse !!!

  1. You went to the sweet shop and bought 25 rasgullas. Outside the shop you saw a beggar and gave  ⅖ to him. How many rasgullas you gave him?
  2. After coming from school, I have 8 1/2 hours with me. Out of which I spend 1/5 hours meditating. How many hours I meditate?

Language

As discussed, answer all the questions from the poem ‘Nobody knows’ in your language notebook. Also, complete the weekend task from Language with ease. (Date of submission:15th July)
