Three legged football in wellbeing unit

Dear Parents/Students,

Learners of grade – 5 played an activity (three legged football) in their unit WELLBEING. Learners reflected on their learnings after the activity.

School Games Basketball competition 2015-16

Respected Parents

Under-14 Basketball Boys and Girls School Games competition postpone and dates are not confirm once the date are confirm from D.S.O will update on Blog.

 

Date-29/7/2015 Under-17 Basketball Boys and Girls have their competition they have to reach Vanita Vishram Ground opp. Mahavir Cardiac Hospital, Athwa gate. They have to carry extra lunch, water bottle, ID card of school, Basketball Kit (Basketball shoes, Shorts and School T-shirt), School bag. They have to reach on stop at 7:45 AM as we will be leaving at 8:00 AM from the stop to the competition venue. Returning time is not fixed and we will be informing the time  to pick your child from Vanita Vishram Ground.

Highlights:

UOI: Reflection through I-wall

The students were asked to reflect on their learning throughout the unit and answer the following questions:

How can I apply my learning?
What am I learning about myself as a learner?
How is my thinking changing?
What questions does this unit raise for me?

This activity helped them connect the big idea that they have learned during the unit with their own life.

Language- The session was taken in the form of Team-teaching where the students of Excogitate and Ruminate were combined together.

The main ideas from the book were discussed in the class and the students were asked to brainstorm and answer the questions asked from the book. The session helped them to brush up their understanding of the book.

The following question was focussed and the students were asked to share their perspectives. The session was quite interactive and led to many new insights.

Unit of Inquiry:

Teacher took a recap of the unit in the class today. Later, she explained the Frayer’s Model in the class. Teacher distributed Frayer’s Model worksheets and instructed the learners to fill it which would be based on their overall understanding about the unit. In this they kept in mind the videos, read aloud, guest sessions and field trips done till now in unit. She then took a discussion after that so that all learners were clear with the unit.

Language:

Teacher modeled a Narrative writing story keeping beginning, middle 1 , middle 2 and end in the mind on the white board. She used 6 writing traits in the writing and writing process.

Homework:

Maths: Solve the following- 237 -139 ,9000-7999, 7689+8709,5463+90063 in math homework book.

Language: Complete the illustration for the Narrative writing.

UOI: Briefing and the discussion of the summative assessment which will be taken place tomorrow at Kevdi eco-site.

U.O.I: Learners wrote a reflection of the field trip undertaken yesterday.

Language: Dictation was taken in the class.

Math: Learners were given a worksheet which had 4 blank cheques and it was discussed with the them that it is the real life application of number system.

Day 1

UOI : Learners ​ started writing a ​reflection of the  field trip done yesterday.

Language : Dictation was taken in the class. The books are corrected and sent back.

Math :The students solved sums on the expanded form and the number names up to 9 digit using Indian and International system in their Math notebook.

Homework :
