This week, we completed with inheritance chapter in genetics unit. In which students learnt how to read pedigree chart after that they were given different pedigree chart and told to explain the same. We started with new chapter, genetic modification and biotechnology in the same unit, in which we discussed gel electrophoresis, PCR and DNA profiling.
This week we completed Act 1 from the Merchant of Venice and some students recorded an IOC based on it. Students are encouraged to keep practising at home.
The next unit test they will have will be for Paper 2.

This week, we completed the initiation activity and had a discussion based on it which helped students understand text types, the purpose and audience of texts and how text types are chosen based on the audience and the purpose.
Some students have also begun with Popular Culture where they distinguished between popular art and real art, the characteristics of popular art etc.

We have started with the topic of co ordination and response last week. Students have learned about organs Ã‚Â that Ã‚Â are included in central nervous system and in peripheral nervous system. Students understood the basic structure of neurons very well. They learnt about different types of neurons. They are clear with the concept of Reflex action. Students were able to make real life connections easily.
We started with the new unit, ‘Movement in and out of cell.’ In this, we discussed about the process of diffusion and certain examples of diffusion. Students performed the practical on staining the onion peel cell and observing it under the microscope. Doubts regarding the worksheet of magnification were solved.
We have started with Panorama Francophone 2 and completed the first chapter and begun with the second. The students are expected to put in work at home in terms of written tasks and finding word meanings. They had their first unit test this week, the results for which will be given next week.
This week, students presented the introduction they had written last time. They wrote a descriptive text on a fairy tale they liked and presented that as well. Some received their texts and hence, we started with solving exercises which were based on what they had done in the IGCSE.
The selection for Ã‚Â table tennis players for SGFI event will be happening tomorrow in PS slots. Interested students should reach the Indoor Sports room on time(location-next to yoga room, 3rd floor, block 6)
In this week, we discussed about Cell theory and Magnification and it’s importance in class. Ã‚Â Students were asked to solve the questions on magnification. A practical to measure the size of cell with the help of microscope and stage micrometer was conducted.
