Dear All
Last week students were exposed to MYP Experimental cycle. They were given samples and were asked to apply different seperation techniques to seperate the components of the mixture.
The unit was wrapped up by conducting a summative assessment for Unit 2 which was based on Criteria B and C that involves Inquiry, Design, Process and Evaluation.

Math

Using geoboards, learners derived the formula for calculating the perimeter of a square as well as a rectangle.Hence, they learnt to calculate the perimeter of a square and rectangle.

Math Formative Assessment was also taken.

UOI: Learners discussed the do’s and don’ts of using the chromebook and also the essential agreements of it.

Language: Learners read the chapter ‘Describing negative characters’ and discussion of question – answers was done.

[Highlight Of The Day]

Language: Students learned about sequencing by studying the chapter Ã¢â‚¬Å“Swimming in sequenceÃ¢â‚¬Â from the Empowering English reference book . Later, they completed the task given in the chapter.

Math: Students were divided into groups. Each group had to frame 3 question of each type as taught to them for collecting data. Later, each group presented their questions.

UOI:Ã‚Â The students watched the following video and had a discussion on it.

Students completed reading till chapter 10 of the book ‘The Giver’ and updated their online journal with the questions of the respective learning centres.

UOI:-

We, as a class, discussed the key points from the guest speaker session which was about the Indian Government system. Later, we mapped the types of government with the types of classes students observed as the tuning in session of the current unit.

Math:-

Formative assessment was taken in order to check the students’ understanding about the properties of different types of quadrilaterals.
