Recap of the day – 30/8/16

Language -   Learners read few pages with explanation from Magic Faraway Tree and later learnt to find the difficult words from the dictionary. Teacher demonstrated first how to search the words and then they tried on their own.

U O I – Learners came to know about Greenland  ‘s  climate,food,clothes houses ,economy,natural resources,geography and people in detail.

Read aloud was conducted “Happy Birthday little witch ” by Deborah  Hautzig.

Homework 

U O I  –On the physical map  students need to find the given countries and it  falls in which zone – Russia, Canada, Brazil, Australia . They also need to write all the zones and draw the imaginary lines. (a worksheet has been given for the same).

Highlights

U.O.I

The students shared their understanding after the discussion of the Learner Profiles, Attitudes and Skills being catered to in the ongoing unit.

Language

Students made connections with their peers and made a display of web which they’ll be using later during the reader.

Math

The teacher took up a discussion regarding the Survey the students conducted at home and organised the data collected by them on the board. Later, she presented the same in the form of graph using ICT skills.

[Highlight Of The Day] [Unit Of Inquiry]
  • Learners learned the meaning of ‘rights and responsibilities.’ They also learned about our fundamental rights and duties as a citizen of India. After a fruitful discussion, learners prepared rights and responsibilities for the citizens of their micronation.

Math

  • We learned how to find the area and perimeter of composite shapes which can be broken down into simpler shapes like square, rectangle and triangle.

Language

  • Learners aimed to understand the black and white life in Jonas’s community. To understand the life in Jonas’s community, they learned to convert their colorful pictures in black and white through google drawings and further create a video of their life with these black and white pictures through Stupeflix. (Due on thursday)

Homework

[Unit Of Inquiry]
  • On an A4 sheet, write down your understanding of our school’s system  in an organized manner. (It should include the names or departments, roles in short, decision makers etc) (Hint: You can use any graphic organizer, flow charts etc because thats how we organize ourselves 🙂 )
  • Complete creating a display/presentation of teh rights and responsibilitiesd of the citizens of your micronation. (Note: This is to be doen by the member of the group who has been assigned this job)

[Highlight Of The Day] [Unit Of Inquiry] 1. Learners understood about Identity theif in online world and how does it affect us.

2. Learners were explained what they should do when someone uses mean and scary language on the INTERNET.

Language

Poem Wander Thirst was explained to the learners along with the goals of the poem.

[Read Aloud]  Pooh ‘ Very best friend’ read aloud was done by the teacher in the class.

P.T.I Discussion : Teacher talked with learners individually  about the areas of improvement in their daily routine as discussed with the parents during PTI.
