Day 3-Highlights and homework of the day!! (26th September, 2016)

UOI: The students did reflection of my responsiblity of culture through value pac

Language: The students followed the steps of Writing Process to Describe ‘A Visit to a Beach.’ The students were provided guiding questions and Word Bank to use as Framework to do descriptive writing.

Math: Summative assessment was taken.

Homework:

Dear Parents,
We are sending 3 plain A-4 size sheets today for Language HW today.
The students have to do descriptive writing following all the steps of writing process.
The students will do Pre-writing (making of mind-map or writing points using the guiding questions) on the first sheet. They do not have to copy the questions.
The second page will be used for Drafting where the students will organize their ideas in the format of a paragraph. The students will make do the other two steps – Revising(addition, removal, modification, substitution of any word or sentence) and Editing(Capitalization, usage of correct verbs and nouns, punctuation, spellings) in the same sheet. They will cut the words for making changes or use arrows for adding new words/richer vocabulary. They will not use an eraser at this stage as it is important to show the changes made in the first draft.
In the third page, the students will rewrite or publish the paragraph again taking care of all the corrections made (avoiding mistakes).
The students have to submit all the three worksheets tomorrow.
Note: Parents, Let your child think and come up with the answers of the guiding questions. Help them with the words if they struggle while answering guiding questions, but do not give them the complete answers. It is okay if they are making mistakes in the drafting because they will be revising and editing their own work in the latter steps.

Topic for the HW is – Going for shopping
Guiding questions:
When did you go there and with whom?
What did you see there?
What things did you plan to buy there?
Which interesting things you saw there, but you did not buy?
How did you buy the things there?
Did you hear anything there?
How did you feel at the end of the shopping?
When did you come back?
Word Bank – shopping mall, grocery store, food items, toys, eatable, racks with filled items, fridge, money, billing counter, air conditioner, stairs, parents, evening, morning, art and craft items, machine, credit card, trolley, payment, cash, bags.
