Circle time:

Revision of after/before number, forward counting.

Phonological awareness:- Oral activities: Tongue twisters and rhyming words.

Rhyme:

Revision of all the rhymes done till now.

Introduction to the new rhyme:

They enjoyed playing with the toys and mingled up with their friends.

It helped them in enhancing their Social and Communication skills.

 

Puppet theater:

 

Learners were taken to the Puppet Theater and the teacher narrated a story “Pepper (Priya) watches too much TV” using hand puppets.

 

Introduction of letters ‘m’ and ‘d’ was done through various activities.

Formation of letter “d”-   Make a curve, go up up , come down and a tail.
Formation of letter “m”:-  Put your hand in the air, come down, go up and a bumpy curve and another bumpy curve.

Learning centers were done for the reinforcement of letters ‘m’ and ‘d’.

Revision of letter ‘c’ and ‘k’ through a mind map and a game.

Revision of 2d shapes.

Introduction of greater than less than through a story.

Introduction of before number through a number line.

Introduction of common pairs.

Trans-disciplinary theme :- How we organize ourselves

Central Idea:- People’s need determine how they use the spaces and facilities in and around buildings.

Learning Engagement:

Messy Activity:

All the classes of Jr.KG were made messy by the teachers before the arrival of the learners. There was no space for them to even move. Once the learners started entering the class, they were told to get ready for the circle time. They wondered what is wrong with the class and voiced their opinion like “ why is the class so messy and that there is no place to sit, where as some of the children were comfortable playing in the messy setup as well.”

Letter ‘D’ booklet- Make them do it independently.

Day 1

Highlights :

Language : Students appeared for the Summative Assessment.

Math : Students appeared for the Formative Assessment on word problems.

U.O.I : Students were divided into groups where they shared their learning from their visit to the organization. They did note-taking while their peers were sharing.

Homework :

Math : Solve the following in your math homework notebook :

  • Divide 9682 by 64
  • Multiply 3245 by 71
  • 82 km 30 m = _____ cm
  • 64 L 241 ml = _____ ml
  • Subtract: 148 m 19 cm 6 mm from 507 m 40 cm 9 mm
  • Add: 83 m 26 cm 13 mm AND 75 m 73 cm 19 mm
  • Subtract: 92 kg 15 g from 120 kg 245 g
  • Kiran sells 250g tomatoes and 750g onions everyday. What is the total quantity of vegetables she sells everyday? On saturday, she was short of 100 g onions and 75 g tomatoes. How much vegetables can she deliver on saturday?
  • Ashok has a 60 m 25 cm long piece of rope. He wants to cut it into 5 equal parts. How long will each part be?

UOI: Students have to organize the information  (using a chart paper / google slides/ power point presentation/ drama/poem etc) keeping in mind the central idea and the lines of inquiry for their final presentation on Monday, 24th October. They have to refer the notes taken in their UOI notebook for the same.

WOW- Events
Revision of rhymes January and February…, if you are happy and you know it…

    Introduction of number names 41-50 was done.
  • Language:-

Introduction of “in” word family (bin ,fin,pin,sin,tin,win,chin,skin,thin).

  • UOI: Events
    Transdisciplinary theme: How we organise ourselves.
    Central idea: Planning an event requires multitude of skills.
    Tuning in : Exploration table – Objects related to three different events(trip, birthday and beach picnic/pool party) were kept on the exploration tables.
    Read aloud of the book “The night before summer vacation” was done and thus the Super 3 tool(Plan, do, review) was introduced.
  • Homework:
    Writing of “in” and “it” family words two times in notebook.(in, pin, bin, tin, sin, win, fin, shin, chin, skin, thin, spin, twin)

Dear Parents,

Today the kids were completely involved and dedicated to the task at hand of creating the Rube Goldberg model. With their dedication they also invoke the enthusiasm in the parents who came to help them.

I appreciate the parents on behalf of the Grade 6, for being enthusiastic and actively participating in the task.

Looking forward to see you on Monday at 12 noon with equal energy and zeal.

Homework:

Maths: Mix bag Homework has been posted by Rachana Ma’am which needs to be done in Maths Notebook.

UOI: Think about further improvisations that  can be made to the model. Also brainstorm the content of the poster  and put it on the drive, share with your group members, collaborate your ideas and if possible put your finalized group ideas on paper or chart paper.

  • Language: Complete the questions [2, 3, 4, 5 & 6] given on page number 104 in Empowering English. Please do not copy the questions. Questions are discussed in the class.
