At the start of the cycle, students practiced the End-of-chapter questions for the unit WAVES,from their IGCSE recommended textbook. In the practical slot, students performed an experiment on the pendulum, to understand this unit better.
Post this,we began with the Tuning-in activity to the next unit SOUND. We reflected on how the sounds travel through air by creating vibrations in different objects. We discussed in detail the different features of sound waves like pitch and loudness ,to distinguish their types and sources. The range of sound wave frequencies audible to the human ear and the animals , were also discussed and several examples were given for better clarity of the concept.
