Highlights :

U.O.I- The students attended a Panel discussion wherein the panelists were Mr. Vardan Kabra, Mr. Chetan Mehta and Ms. Tasneem Batliwala. The panelists shared their beliefs and values with the students. The students displayed excellent listening skills during this session and also used their communication skills to ask further questions. It was a fruitful session after which students reflected their understanding of the similarities and differences between different peoples beliefs and values (using Venn diagrams) followed by a rich discussion in class.

ICT: The students were taught how to communicate through an email and its etiquette.

Homework:

A. Read the following passages and then write in your Language EE  notebook the answers to the questions given below:
      1. Identify the mood of the passage( sad,happy, positive, negative)
      2.Identify and write the words or phrases through which you can identify the above said mood. 

  •  The witch Glinda sat upon a throne of rubies. She was a beautiful witch. Her hair was a rich red and fell in curls and waves over her shoulders. They looked like the waves of an ocean. Her dress was pure white, but her eyes were blue and looked kindly over Dorothy. Her dainty silver sandals gleamed in the moonlight.

 

  • In the deepest spot of all, stands the castle of The Sea King. Its walls are built of coral, and the long Gothic windows are of the clearest amber. The roof is formed of shells that open and close as the water flows over them. Their appearance is very beautiful, for in each lies a glittering pearl which would be fit for the diadem of a queen.

UOI: The students played a board game in their groups to understand the conservation status of various animals and enthusiastically participated in the activity.

Y-box practise was done.

Homework:

1. The students will memorize the given script.

2. Language notebook: Frame sentences using the following words:

1) children

2) sound

3) began

4) until

5) mile

6) walk

Language : Students learnt to write a persuasive letter. They used sentence starters and vocabulary list given to them to make it more influencing. The drafting for the letter was done as a class on the board. The topic for the letter was ‘Overnight stay and friend’s place’.

UOI : Students were able to make connection with the various single subjects of how ideas and opinions influence the people and focussed on the LOI’S of the unit. Students were introduced to what is a logical appeal and a emotional appeal and clarity was made through watching of the advertisements.

  • One point to remember
  • 4 tips he provided.

Homework : 

Language : Copy the mind map and 2nd part of the drafting from the attachment sent in the mail on your mail id.

Do the revising and editing as discussed in the class. Complete Publishing for the same.(To be submitted tomorrow)

Finish the Christmas card.

Dear parents,

Greetings!!!!

This cycle we continued with the unit Animal Nutrition, they learnt about what is Malnutrition and effects of malnutrition. They also studied about obesity, starvation, constipation and coronary heart disease. We started discussing Human digestive system with the students and they labelled the digestive system diagram worksheet given to them.
