Dear parents,

The students had a gala time playing games, eating yummy food, and enjoyed the magic show. They freshened up, changed their clothes and slept happily s in their beds. They went for walk and did warm up exercises before having their breakfast .

Day 1

Highlights

Language :-

  • Students watched a video read aloud – “I wanna Iguana.” They were able to make connections with the persuasive writing they are learning in the current unit.

Later, they attempted to write a persuasive letter on any one of the following  topics by following the steps of writing process :-

  •  1) I want a new room.
  • 2) Celebrating birthday at Fountainhead school.
  • 3) Any Idea that you want to persuade your friends, parents, school, etc for.

Students worked in their groups on a public speaking task assigned to them. It was either anchoring a show, making a commercial, narrating an action story or talking about their achievements (Assuming oneself to be a famous personality, celebrity or something they wanted to become).

Maths :- They attempted a FA on Mean Median and Mode.

They also  understood the advantages and disadvantages of Sampling through class discussion.

UOI : Students were introduced to what is a logical appeal and a emotional appeal and clarity was made through watching of the advertisements and the Chapter  TO COAX, THREATEN OR INFORM – THAT IS THE QUESTION! from Empowering English.

Then,  students got into groups and made posters and slogans against a social cause which they thought appropriate. They chose between emotional or logical appeal to convince the other groups to understand their idea and join them for the same social cause.

Grade 2 Music highlights

Grade 2 students have started learning music  in their new UOI Genre. During the process of prior knowledge checking and tuning-in, students explored different types of songs, like children songs, season songs, bhajans,  festival songs, and songs from different regional languages like, Marathi, Marwari and Punjabi. Through this, the students acquired the knowledge about these types of songs, singing, the rhythmic style of the songs, and the various instruments as well.

Students got the understanding about the definition of Genre and its elements. Students are learning the Folk music genre, in which they are learning a Marathi folk song” Navri natali” .They have also learnt a Chinese folk song during their culture unit . Students are enjoying and participating enthusiastically in this unit.
