[Highlight Of The Day]

Language

  • Today we started with a new story about “The Bat, The Bramble and The Cormorant”. We first had a short discussion and using KWL chart as anchor chart, we jotted our knowledge, our wonders. Then they read 3 articles on Bat, Bramble and Cormorant.

Math

  • We discussed the questionnaire created by all the students and gave critical feedback to the peers in order to convert our blah questions into good questions.

Day 3

[Highlight Of The Day]

UOI- We had mock presentation by few students and they were assessed by their assigned peer for the same. Critical feedback was given as well, in order to help them prepare for the final presentation.

Language- Learners delved deeper in their understanding of facts and opinions. We discussed the task in EE and understood that it is often difficult to have facts for abstract noun.

Math – Multiplication of decimals was done in the class. Learners started with Transferring meaning in to symbols.

Homework

UOI- Prepare well for the presentation. Work on the feedback given and rehearse how you speak and what you speak. Get the models/charts etc. and time capsule tomorrow without fail. Also, refer to the blog post ‘Grade 5: Note for presentation’, posted by Evelyn ma’am.

Language- Using the Writing process and the six traits of writing, write your first draft on the topic : Don’t kids need pocket money. (To be submitted tomorrow)

Parent orientation for the 5th UOI

Dear Parents,

 

In an attempt to make ourselves more aware and responsive towards the growing needs of our children, we have a sensitisation session planned, as discussed during the PTM, for the parents in connection with our ongoing unit on 5th January 2017 at 07:50 am.
 
The session will be lead by Dr. Salim Hirani. He is a well-known pediatrician and has his own children’s hospital in Surat. He has a vast experience of conducting seminars on topics like adolescence and puberty across schools and various other educational institutions. Dr. Salim Hirani would be assisted by Mrs. Fatema Maskati, who is also our school counselor.
You are requested to be ready with your questions related to the unit, so as to make most out of the session.
The session will start sharp at 7:50. Kindly be seated by 07:45 am at Pulse. (1st floor, block 1)
Note: Car pooling is highly encouraged.
