Highlights:-

UOI:-

In today’s session, students were tuned into the new unit through a video in which a living creature undergoes several changes as it grows in its life. Furthermore, they were asked to give their opinion on certain questions on their experience ofÃ‚Â growing up. They were scaffolded to develop the central idea through the discussion based on their opinion.

Language:-

The chapter ‘A fable of fortunes’ was read in the classroom and students made anecdotes based on their connections, wonderings and surprising element.

Math:-

Students worked in their groups to create a survey questionnaire on a real life situation and made a google form to collect the data.

Today’s Highlights:

Language

Dictation was taken and self corrected.

The students were given practice of simplification of fractions for building their skills. Later, they the concept of equivalent fractions was also reinforced through various learning centers set up in the class.

U.O.I:-

The remaining presentations of the culture capsules and graffiti wall were done. The students also filled in the End of Unit Reflection sheets to reflect upon their understanding of the unit

1. Make corrections of incorrect words from dictation list.
2. Also, make 5 sentences using any of the words from the 800 list 2.

UOI:Ã‚Â Teacher started with tuning in activity with children by sharing Ã‚Â my life through photos where I showedÃ‚Â my photos over the years.

Language: Today we started with a new story about Ã¢â‚¬Å“The Bat, The Bramble and The CormorantÃ¢â‚¬Â. We first had a short discussion and using KWL chart as anchor chart, we jotted our knowledge, our wonders. Then they read 3 articles on Bat, Bramble and Cormorant.

Read the 3 articles shared with you, if left and make notes of it.

Read the chapter ‘Fable of Fortunes’ from EE page- 66 to 69 and while reading make anchor chart of Monitoring inner conversation with 4 quadrants (Wow, Wonder, Connections, Gist) and write at least 2 points in each quadrant.

UOI: Students filled up the reflection sheet after they did presentation on graffiti wall and culture capsule where they analysed which skills they applied. Thereafter they filled up the end of unit reflection sheet.

Language: The students learned to frame sentence using vividÃ‚Â  and specific verbs.

Language: Find any 3 descriptive passages from Charlotte’s web from chapter 1-9.Ã‚Â  Mark these passages or notedown the page number.

The students, as a part of their Summative Assessment task for the current unit, presented their Culture Capsule and Graffiti Wall. They also observed their peers’ presentationÃ‚Â  from the buddy class. Later, they filled a reflection sheet for the same.

The homework discussion was taken up. Later, the students practiced a fewÃ‚Â  sums for HCF and LCM.

Dear Parents,

Today was a new beginning, a new unit.

UOI: We started with tuning in activity by sharing Ã‚Â my life through photos where they were shown my photos over the years. Students themselves started comparing the photos of year on year and came to the central Idea and identified the TDT. A Line game as a part of engagement was conducted where they were asked few questions to realize and express that they are experiencing change where without saying much they were able to express using just Yes or No as answer. Post this engagement, they were able to identify the Key concepts of Change, Perspective and Responsibility.

TDT: Who we are

Central Idea: Changes people experience at different stages of their lives affect their evolving sense of self.

Language: Today we started with a new story about “The Bat, The Bramble and The Cormorant”. We first had a short discussion and using KWL chart as anchor chart, we jotted our knowledge, our wonders. Then they read 3 articles on Bat, Bramble and Cormorant and updated the KWL Chart with their learnings. Post this they started reading the story and also were monitoring their inner conversation by annotating in the Empowering English Book.

Homework:

Language:

1. The students need to make anchor chart of Monitoring inner conversation with 4 quadrants (Wow, Wonder, Connections, Gist) and write atleast 2 points in each quadrant by referring to their annotations in their book.
2. Ã‚Â They need to solve Weekend Home Task in Learning with Ease book page no 49.
