Grade 11 ESS Field Trip to GNCS Vadodara on 7 January 2017

Dear Grade 11 ESS students and Parents,

Kindly note that ESS students of Grade 11 will be having a field trip to Gujarat Nature Conservation Society in Vadodara on Saturday, 7 January 2016. The trip is arranged with an aim of providing an opportunity to Grade 11 ESS students to witness various aspects pertaining to conservation, sustainability and other eco-friendly practices that can be implemented by all. Please note that it is mandatory for all ESS students to go for this trip.

This is a one day trip and the bus will depart from Vanita Vishram at 5:00 am on 7 January and reach Vadodara by 9:30 am. Reporting time at Vanita Vishram on 7 January is 4:45 am.

They will then be taken on a guided tour of the GNCS campus through the day. We will leave Vadodara at 5:30 pm and reach Vanita Vishram, Surat at around 9 pm. We will be travelling by a hired bus to Vadodara and back. Breakfast and lunch are arranged for the students. They may carry extra food as per the school’s food policy.

Teachers accompanying the students are Chetan Mehta, Manish Tiwari and Sneha Joshi. The cost of the trip is Rs. 850 approximately, which will be deducted from the imprest deposit of the respective student. Students are NOT allowed to carry electronic gadgets like ipods, mobile phones etc. Students are required to wear school uniform (T shirt and trousers. Please note that shorts are not allowed)

Day 4 Wednesday

Language: Learners wrote a narrative on their ‘Experience of doing something for the first time’. For example: The first time I sat on a roller coaster ride, the first time I sat in a plane. The teacher gave 2 examples of her own (the first time I saw an escalator and the first time I ate bitter gourd) to explain to them how it was to be written.

Inquiry : Learners framed the central idea and derived the lines of inquiry. The students’ learning contract and parent undertaking were discussed with the students in detail .

Note for parents:- Kindly go through both the undertakings and sign on both of these.

Central Idea: Changes people experience at different stages of their lives affect their evolving sense of self.

LOI:

  • Different changes that we experience during puberty (change).
  • Cultural beliefs associated with pubertal changes (Perspective).
  • How do we accept and evolve through these changes (Responsibility).

Language :- Learners discussed the ending of chapter ‘a fable of fortune’ and further discussed on post discussion questions from the book Empowering English.

२. पाठ्य पुस्तक से pg.no 52 में दिए गए वार्तालाप कौन “कहाँ रहता है ?” का flash card छात्रों को दिखाया गया और दिए गए चित्र को देखकर छात्रों ने प्रश्न बनाए और एक दूसरे के साथ वार्तालाप किया |

Descriptive writing में अलमारी (cupboard ) के बारे में नोटबुक में लिखकर लाना है |

नीचे दिए गए संकेत बिंदु की मदद से लेखन कार्य पूरा करें |
१.सबसे पहले mindmap बनाएं ( अलमारी का आकार, रंग , कहाँ हैं , कितने खाने हैं , क्या – क्या सामान रखते हो )
२.Mind map की मदद से Descriptive writing करिए और साथ ही आपका लिखा हुआ sequence में    हो|

  • Students have started their assessments task by preparing ppts, posters or puppet shows by following the specific criteria.
  • Y-box practice was done.
