Dear All,

Here is the update of what we did last week in Math slot:

As Grade 10 was having their X-Box on 05-01-2017, this week was given for them to practice.

Based on the theme ” Cinematic Thesis” students came up with the idea of doing “Making of the film”

So they worked in a team and each individual was engaged in a particular sub-task like researching, exploring, organizing, investigating etc. Through out this process students faced difficulties and tolerated unexpected and unfamiliar problems, but they never gave up. They collaborated co-operatively to find the solution by making proper approaches using their intuition methods like conjectures, logic and developed problem solving skills, management skills, communication skills, research skills and thinking skills. Thus finally they came up with a short film about the making of a film and the mathematical principles implemented in it.

• 5 point summary(Box and Whisker plot)

Based on these topics taught few exam style questions were solved in the class and remaining were given as homework.

1. We had a detailed discussion about Stem and Leaf plot. Students did exercise sums of the same in the class.
2. Students were provided with revision worksheet pertaining to the entire Statistics unit. Copy of which is already uploaded on parent student resource folder.
3. Unit test of Statistics unit was conducted.
4. FA papers has been handed over to students and feedback for the same given.

We have introduced a new unit ‘ECO-TOURISM’in the class.

The students were asked to create STATEMENT OF INQUIRY for the unit.They created different SOI with enthusiasm.

They were made listen to an audio where the conversation about eco-tourism and traditional tourism could be heard. Further the topic was discussed with the students.

A worksheet was given to read and new words were marked which students wrote in their notebook and found the meaning.

This week students came to know about bio-molecules like Proteins and Fats. Students learned about the importance of these nutrients and what are the food sources of the same. TheyÃ‚Â  also learned about different tests like Benedict’s, Biuret and Ethanol emulsion test to check presence of these nutrients. Students enjoyed learning and observing the color changes in all these tests done in the laboratory.
