[Highlight Of The Day]

Math: Students have analyzed the variation in the results of a survey, if sample size is varied. They understood that results Ã‚Â will be better Ã‚Â if asked from more people.

UOI: Students were able to understand the importance of critical evaluation of messages presented in the media and reflected on the same.

Language: Students have written a descriptive passage on the topic ‘My school’. They have applied their knowledge about writing traits and writing process for the same.

Day 1

HighlightsÃ‚Â

Language: Students listenedÃ‚Â to instrumental music and drew what they imagined in the printed boxes of a work sheet.Ã‚Â After each drawing they wrote a short sentence about the picture/pictures that they had drawn. They converted this sentence into longer sentences to make it a short poem.

Math: Students continued to work on their Summative assessment task.

UOI: Students were divided into pairs and each pair was given a situation in which they had to consider themselves as the main character and had to make an informed choice so as to take an appropriate action. Each pair did a short role play on the situations using strategies for ‘Saying No’, learned by them.

Homework :

Language :

• Think/search for more interesting words and write a prepositional phrase in the worksheet given
Then finally make a poem from the 4 lines, minimum and give a suitable title, the worksheet given. (Ignore if completed)
• Mix bag homework Ã¢â‚¬â€œ posted on the blog by Rachana MaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢am to be done in Journal sheets.
• Solve the question answers of the poem Ã¢â‚¬ËœTravelÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ from EE pg no. 31(Q1 to 10) in Language notebook.

Phonological awareness activity:

• .Teacher played Ã‚Â passing the parcel, who ever got the parcel, was given a word and that student had to give a rhyming word. Eg- tape-cape, flag-rag,tring-bring, flap-clap, fish-dish, rash-crash, big-fig, hair-chair.
• Higelty Pigelty bumble bee, can you share the name with me…Tasnim, let’s all say tasnim, let’s tap/clap/jump and say Tasnim../Tas/ /nim/. Similarly all the learners had to break their names into syllables.

Language:

• Revision of letters Ã¢â‚¬ËœgÃ¢â‚¬â„¢,Ã¢â‚¬â„¢oÃ¢â‚¬â„¢,Ã¢â‚¬â„¢uÃ¢â‚¬â„¢,Ã¢â‚¬â„¢lÃ¢â‚¬â„¢,Ã¢â‚¬â„¢fÃ¢â‚¬â„¢,Ã¢â‚¬â„¢bÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ and Ã¢â‚¬ËœjÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ with their sounds and action was taken up.
• Formative assessment of the 3rd cluster was taken through guided play.

Math:

• Revision of all the taught concepts (forward counting, backward counting, after numbers, before numbers, greater than less than, pattern).
• Introduction of 3D shape Sphere – Teacher showed the 3d shape sphere. The teacher also explained the difference between a 3D shape and a 2D shape and made real life connection of 3D shapes with examples like ball, orange, marbles, ladoo etc.

• Introduction of Seriation – Small to big

Teacher read Ã‚Â the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and asked a few questions like: How many goats were there in the story? Were they of the same size?

Further, teacher Ã‚Â showed them puppets of goats and asked which goes first, second and third and then explained them about seriation and also that it can be done with more than 3 things/objects as well.

• Oral chanting from 1 to 50

Unit of inquiry:

Transdisciplinary theme :- Sharing the planet.

Central Idea:- Plants sustain life on earth and play a role in our lives.

Learners made their favourite food items with clay, similar food items were placed together and then a discussion was taken up. Further learners were shown various types of grains on visit to the kitchen and then taken for a field trip to the flour mill. Lastly learners visited the wheat farm to gain an understanding about origin of wheat grain.

Free play:Learners were given different toys :

• Jodo blocks
• Rangometry
• Wooden blocks
• Clay
• Puzzles

Students enjoyed playing with the toys and mingled up with their friends. It helped them in enhancing their Social and Communication skills.

The students reflected upon their understanding of Chapter 11 of The Charlotte’s Web. Later, a discussion upon the Summative assessment for descriptive writing was taken up. They were explained the criteria they will be assessed upon.

Also, the students reflected upon the experience of bringing together and performing various acts in their Celebration of Learning.
