[Highlight Of The Day]

Math: The concept of addition of fractions was revised by solving a few sums.

Language: Chapter 12 of “Charlotte’s web” was read and comprehended.

UOI: The students were shown a PPT  and Video wherein they guessed the product and the message conveyed. Through this engagement, they came to an understanding that everyone has a different perspective and the same visual can be interpreted differently by all. This lead to our 3rd Line Of Inquiry: People’s response to messages.

Homework

UOI: Collect any 2 Ads or posters that you like (newspapers, magazines, printouts or etc) and on a paper write down, why do these posters appeal to you?
Also, ask your parents or siblings(any 2 people) and note down their views/opinion about these posters on the same paper.

Math: Add the following fractions:
i) 2/3 + 1/3 = ?
ii) 1/2 + 1/2 = ?
iii) 2/6 + 3/6 = ?
iv) 3/8 + 4/8 = ?
v) 2/5 + 1/5 = ?

Language: Students have to complete the worksheet given.

Highlights:

U.O.I: Revision of the elements of Advertisement and thereafter Formative Assessment was taken up.

The students were shown a PPT of visuals without specifying the product it is for wherein they guessed the product and the message conveyed. Through this engagement, they came to an understanding that everyone has a different perspective and the same visual can be interpreted differently by all. This lead to our 3rd Line Of Inquiry: People’s response to messages.

Math:

  1. The concept of addition of fractions was revised by solving a few sums.
  2. The concept of subtraction was introduced through illustrations and then few subtraction sums were also solved.

Homework:

Math: Add the following fractions:
i) 2/3 + 1/3 =
ii) 1/2 + 1/2 =
iii) 2/6 + 3/6 =
iv) 3/8 + 4/8 =
v) 2/5 + 1/5 =

Challenge:

Your class had a pizza party. 2/12 of Cheese pizza was left over, and 7/12 of Italian pizza was left over. You put them both into one box. How much pizza do you have altogether? (Illustrate your answer).

Highlights:

UOI: 

Discussion on “gravity” and “Earth’s interior and surface” was taken through a Google slide and a video.

Language: 

  1. An article on ‘Galaxies’ was read and explained in the class. Students were asked to re-read, comprehend and answer the questions related to the same.
  2. Students have solved one page of worksheet on Pronouns.

Math:

Students have revised tables of 0 & 1 and have learned tables of 2 and 3.

Audition round of the literary event J-A-M was completed.

Homework:

Language: Students have to revise Pronouns by solving 2 worksheet.

Worksheet 1 (both sides): Students have to fill in the blanks using appropriate pronouns.

Worksheet 2: Students have to rewrite the given paragraph by using Pronouns.

Day 5 Thursday

UOI:  “Source” (one of the five aspects) was taken up in class where learners’ were showed a video. Later, students copied the notes from the board that were made as a class in the given booklet.

Math: Learners enjoyed the read aloud of the book “Divide and Ride ”. Later, learners discussed what exactly was happening in the book.

Homework:

Booklet – Animal that jumps as discussed in class.

Maintain the reading log.

  • Audition round of the literary event J-A-M was completed.
  • A worksheet on pronouns was done .

UOI: How the world works:

  • Students learned about the moon , eclipses,tides and it’s phases through a video.

                                                          Homework

  • Pronoun worksheet.
  • Language notebook: Frame sentences using the list of adjectives and verbs written in the notebook.

UOI : Learners watched the movie “Freaky Friday” to make connection to their learning in the current unit.

Homework

UOI : Below are the questions you need to answer, in your Inquiry Journal, based on the movie you watched today.

  1. “Changes people experience at different stages of their lives affect their evolving sense of self” explain this statement in context of the movie.
  2. What are the challenges faced by an Adult?
  3. What are the challenges faced by an adolescent?

ICT: Students understood the components of an email, purpose of using an email and basic etiquette and guidelines to be followed while writing an email. Later they were given chrome books to get hands on experience of writing and sending an e-mail.

UOI: One more video  pertaining to “Source” of petroleum(one of the five aspects) was showed .

Math:

Read aloud of the book – Divide and ride by Stuart J. Murphy was done in class.
