1. You have 2/4 of a pizza and you want to share it equally between 2 people. How much of the pizza does each person get?

2. A baker is making cakes for a big party. She uses 1/2 cup of oil for each cake. How many cakes can she make if she has a bottle of oil that has 6 cups in it?

3. The serving size for the granola that Ted likes to eat for breakfast is 1/4 cup. How many servings are there in a box that holds 13 cups?

4. How many 1/2 cup servings are in a package of cheese that contains 5 cups altogether?

5. You have 6 donuts and you want to give 2/3 of them to a friend and keep the rest for yourself. How many donuts would your friend get?

Dear  parent,

On 23rd February Grade 2 has their assembly ,(Discover, Think, Wonder and Dream). Students need to wear few a dress code for it. (mentioned below)

  1. Animal dance: (Discover and Think): They need to wear yellow or orange top and black bottom. (we will inform the students through DD who all will wear the specific color for animal dance).
  2. Rest of the students need to wear red top and blue bottom.

All students are supposed to bring their school uniform compulsory in their bag. No extra make up or shoes or any other accessories are required for the performances.

Recap of the day – 21/2/17

Math  – Learners completed the math worksheet based on real life application and the math concepts done till now.
 
They also  did a common error worksheet to enhance the concepts taught.
Read aloud of the book “Families are different” was done.
HOMEWORK –
Math – Do the multiplication sums as discussed using any method.
Language –  Make sentences using  the following words:trouble, symbols, experiment ,probably and necessary in your language notebook.

Language: Today, students twisted original fairy tales and made a poem describing their fractured fairy tales.

Maths: Students revised converting fractions to decimals , placement of decimal point and word problems on fractions and decimals.

Homework:

Maths: Students will solve the Smoothie worksheet shared online on their email ids.

Students will also solve the below word problems in their Maths notebooks.

  • Theresa baked an apple pie and cut it into eight pieces. She ate one, and gave one to John. What is the fraction of the remaining pie?
  • Peter has eight pieces of candy. He gave Julie three, Tracy three and Dan one. What is the fraction of the candy that he gave away?
  • Natasha bought eight cookies. She gave two to her brother, two to her dad, and two to her mom. What is the fraction for the number of cookies she has left?
