Grade 8 I&S- Syllabus for term II

Dear parents,

Below is the syllabus to be considered for term II-

  • Stock Exchange
  • Concepts of Economics (including banking)
  • Insurance
  • Conflicts around the world(India-Pakistan conflict, War on Terror, Israel-Palestine, The Arab Spring)

The question paper will be comic strip and source based and would be evaluated out of 80 marks and 20 marks will be for Internal Assessments. Time allotted for the exam will be 2 hours 15 min.

Both HL and SL students will have 2 papers as per the IB requirement.

HL Paper 1: Marks 60, Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

SL Paper 1: Marks 40, Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

HL Paper 2: Marks 70, Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

SL Paper 2: Marks 50, Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
Paper 1 for both HL as well as SL will be based on a pre seen Case Study with additional stimulus material for Section B for both SL and HL and also one more additional stimulus material for Section C only for HL which will be given during the examination. All the additional stimulus materials will be the continuation of the pre seen Case Study.

Dear Parents,
For term II there will be 2 papers. Paper 1 will be of 1 hr 15 mins (25marks) and 2 will be of 2 hr 45 mins (75 marks). Syllabus for the paper is- Power, sovereignty and International relations; Human rights and Peace and conflict unit. Paper 1 will be source based paper and paper 2 will be of essay type answers.
