Grade 7_ Language and Literature_ Syllabus for Final exam

Please find English Subject  Second term Examination Syllabus and details:

Units: 

Unit 1 Forms of Writing (Descriptive, Narrative and Persuasive)

Unit 2 Poems (Upagupta, The Unworthy Gift, Cinderella files, Poem on Life Skills)

Unit 3 Literary texts (Wonder novel and non-fiction texts)

Unit 4 Drama (Shakespearian excerpts)

Examination Details

  • No. of paper: 1
  • Types of questions: Comprehension, Short, Medium and Long response questions.
  • Duration of Paper: 2 hours

Paper will assess all the four criteria of English Subject -:

  • Criterion A: Analyzing
  • Criterion B: Organizing
  • Criterion C: Producing Text
  • Criterion D: Using Language

Language :

  1. The students listened to the story  “Too much noise” and framed questions using 5Ws and 1H strategy along with the teacher.
  2. Dictation was conducted. (1st March).

Maths:

  • The teacher revised the concept of multiplication with regrouping using area model and traditional method.

UOI:

  • Reflection of the prior knowledge activity of the new unit was done.

Homework:

  • Frame sentences: space, Earth, technology, galaxy, moon, orbit.

Maths:

  • Find the product: 34 × 3 , 58 × 2 , 26 × 4, 56 × 5 , 48 × 3.(Vertical multiplication: Solve with traditional as well as area method).
  • Word problems:

1)A town has 4 post offices. In each post office there are 12 workers. How many workers do the post offices have in total?

2)Each child has 6 blocks. If there are 14 children, how many blocks are there in total?

3)A teacher has 3 boxes of chalk. Each box has 14 pieces of chalk. How many pieces of chalk does the teacher have in all?

4)A summer camp has 6 cabins, and 12 campers can sleep in each cabin. How many campers can the cabins hold?

  • Learn tables from 2 to 10 on a regular basis.

Important note:

  • The students need to submit all the homework on Monday (6th March).But they have to bring their notebooks tomorrow for the regular slots.

  2. The students listened to the story  “Too much noise” and framed questions using 5Ws and 1H strategy along with the teacher.

  • Find the product: 34 × 3 , 58 × 2 , 26 × 4, 56 × 5 , 48 × 3.(Vertical multiplication: Solve with traditional as well as area method)
  • Mix bag worksheet.
  • Word problems:

Highlights:

Language : Students were read aloud the book: ‘I Will Not Ever Never Eat a Tomato’ by Lauren Child to tune them into ‘Dialogues’. Next, they were given a passage on ‘My Dog’ through which teacher modeling of adding dialogues was done. Later, they worked in groups and added two more dialogues to the passage.

Math: Students solved word problems having different operations. Later, the teacher clarified doubts.

U.O.I : Students watched a video on Demand and Supply after which they filled a graphic organizer. They also identified the first line of inquiry of the unit.

Homework:

UOI:  Create a Goods and Services T- Chart in your UOI notebook while identifying, noting and bifurcating the answers to the question mentioned below:
* What are the things you did after getting up from bed?
* What items did you use in getting ready?
* What did you eat and what did you use to eat?
* What did you eat for lunch? Who served it?
* How did you get home? Who dropped you home?

Math 
Learners solved the division sums having remainder. They also learnt the formula to verify their answer. ( Divisor x Quotient + Remainder = Remainder)
ICT
Learners were introduced to code studio. They enjoyed playing the activities on course 2 stage 3.
UOI
By  performing various activities learners prior knowledge of the new unit was checked.

Teacher modelled a coding game for the learners’. Later they were given chrome books to get hands on experience where they were asked to code and pass the different stages.

Language: Students read and comprehended Chapter 16 from the reader ‘Charlotte’s Web’.

Math: Students solved few word problems involving ‘Multiplication of Fractions’.

UOI: A) Students presented their findings on their chosen exploratory question in front of  the whole class.

B) Students reflected their understanding about the keywords of the central idea: ‘Production, Consumption, Exchange, Economic activity, Goods and Services’. Later, whole class discussion was taken up for the same. Students framed the central idea by their own where they have used their thinking skills.

Language: A) Dictation 900 List 2.

B) Students have to read Chapter 16 from the reader ‘Charlotte’s Web’ and underline the dialogues.

Math: Solve the following in your Math notebook:

a) What is 3/8th of 40 books?

b)  ​36 of the doughnuts in a box have frosting. 4/6 of the doughnuts with frosting have sprinkles. What fraction of the doughnuts in the box have frosting and sprinkles?

c) Furry Pets pet store has 20 animals and 2/5 of them are puppies. Pets Galore pet store has 12 animals and 3/4 of them are puppies. Which pet store has more puppies?

d) A cupcake recipe asks for 4 of a cup of butter. Harry wants to make 2/4 of the original recipe. How many cups of butter will he need?
