Dear parents,

This is to inform you that a unit has been introduced to students which is CALCULUS. In Calculus, we will be covering only differential calculus in DP year 1.

This week students were taught the following concepts of differential calculus :

(a) The quotient rule derived from the product rule
(b) Differentiation of exponential and logarithmic functions
(c) Concept of implicit differentiation , related rates and its real life applications
(d) Differentiation on a^x using the concept of natural logarithms and implicit differentiation

Students solved many questions to master the above listed concepts. Few exam style questions were also given to them in class.

Grade 9 Chemistry highlights carbonate and sulfur”

Dear All

This week students of grade 9 across the sections started the chapters sulfur and carbonate, C12 and C13 respectively.   They learnt the reactions of contact process, properties of sulfuric acid, preparation and uses of lime. Next cycle, the chapters will be completed and revision will commence across the sections.

  1. We continued the unit of Mensuration and understand the concept of Arc, Arc length, Sector and Sector area of a circle.
  2. To understand these further we did the questions from Ex 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and 6.6 in the class.
  3. In one slot Unit Test of Statistics is taken.

Dear All,

I. The syllabus for final term exam is as below:

A. Introduction

Chapter 1 The foundation of economics

B. Section 1 Micro Economics

Chapter 2 to Chapter 7

C. Section 4 Development Economics

Chapter 16 to Chapter 19

 

II. The structure of the question papers is as below:

A. Paper 1 – 2 sections (Section A & Section B) with 2 questions each. Students have to answer any one from each section.

Total marks is 50.  Each question carries 25 marks.

Paper duration – 90 minutes

B. Paper 2 – Data response – Students have to answer any two out of three case studies.

Total marks is 40. Each question carries 20 marks.

Paper duration – 90 minutes

C. Paper 3 – Quantitative questions. Students have to answer two out of three questions.

Total marks is 50. Each question carries 25 marks.

Paper duration – 60 minutes
