UOI:

The students will interview their parents/Grandparents/Relatives/ to collect and record information regarding their migration.The questions they are supposed to ask them are:

1) Where were you born?

2) Why did your family shift from the place of your birth? How many places have you stayed till now?

3) What were the different reasons behind shifting to different places?

4) What were the challenges that you have faced because of a change in place?

5) What changes have you undergone to be comfortable in a new place?

6) How has your moving to a new place influenced the place of destination?

Important Note:

Kindly send photographs of family members (including the photograph of the family member whom they have interviewed) for the family tree which they will be making in the class through a timeline.

Highlights:

Star of the day : Yagya and Raj

Language: Students revisited the content points such as ‘Strong Verbs, Sensory Details, Transition words, Dialogues, Similes, and Adjectives’ through a game ‘Musical review’. Later, students independently solved the worksheet where they identified the above using different symbols.

U.O.I :  Students were introduced to the distribution channel by sharing the PPT on Parle company.

Math: Students solved problems on unlike fractions after which the answers were discussed.

Homework:

Students will be solving the three worksheets handed to them:

  1. UOI – Lemonade.
  2. Math – Fraction word problems.
  3. Language – Dialogue writing.

Highlights :

Math : Learners attempted summative assessment of ratio and proportion.

UOI: Students read an article and developed and deepened their understanding about the interconnectedness of cultural aspects. They also learned about different aspects of culture like technology, wars, education through the article.

Homework :

PYP Ex : Update Blob tree and write cyclic reflection (Ignore if done).

The sessions taken in the cycle are:

  1. Making of the life map
  2. Play by the teachers and reflection of the play through the Four R’s worksheet.
  3. Understanding of history and its importance through videos and quotes.
  4. TDT exploration, exploration of different centers in the classes.
  5. Bus stop activity, Understanding culture through sorting the photos activity.
  6. Quotes on the understanding of culture.

Language :

Sentences are given in the active voice. Change them into the passive voice.

Highlights and homework of the day( day 1)

Language:

The teacher read and explained chapter 9, of EE Book and students framed the 5 ‘W’ and 1 ‘H’ questions orally.

Math:

  • Introduction of rounding (rounding is a way of estimating, where one makes a number less precise but easier to work with)was done through various mental math strategies.

UOI:  Where we are in place and time

  • Students were read aloud a story ‘Country mouse and the city mouse’. They could come up with the differences of rural and urban places and impact on individuals. They also differentiated reasons of migration into push and pull factors.

                                                                                                            Homework

  • Students will complete the 2 worksheets given.

Important note:

  • Students need to practice dodging on a regular basis at home.
  • Please send a book daily for reading during free time in class. Follow the same at home as well.

PYP Exhibition:Students shared the understanding of the quotes assigned to them with the class. They created their own definition of culture and filled the frayer’s model as a group.  After that they read definition of culture by various anthropologists from different parts of the world and made further connections with their definition of culture. They also started reading an article and developed and deepened their understanding.

Homework:

Maths: Students will solve Maths Mix Bag homework posted by Rachna ma’am.

PYP Exhibition :- Write the cyclic reflection for the current cycle, in 20 sentences(minimum) , in your PYP exhibition journal. Keep in mind the cyclic reflection checklist and tick for Cycle 2, in the sheet. The sessions taken in the cycle are :
