Grade 7_Highlights of the week and IMP announcement _All sections

Dear All,

This week began with an engaging guest lecture by Ms. Subhalxmi Iyer (Head of Language Department). She conducted an introductory session to William Shakespeare. In this session,  an interesting activity was conducted where students were divided into groups and they had to enact the death scenes from famous plays. Additionally, the children also had to predict the character and his/her circumstances leading to death.

Some glimpses:

The children thoroughly enjoyed it and understood that learning Shakespeare can be fun.  Later in the week, we began understanding Romeo’s monologue from the play “Romeo and Juliet”.  The monologue is explained in detailed to students with relevant real life examples.

BOOKCLUB: Please note, all students are expected to complete their 7 books by March 31st, 2017. Any entry post this date will not be counted. If students fall short of reading 7 books, their results will be withheld.

Thanks and Regards

Grade 7 team

Leap activity

Leap activity

In this cycle, Grade 1 students revised the concept of  subtraction through a board game which is called  “Spot the difference” in Leap. They already learned how to solve subtraction sums without regrouping and with regrouping in their homeroom. They are familiar with  the vocabulary of subtraction i.e  minuend ,subtrahend and difference. In simple subtraction sum they get minuend and subtrahend and they have to find out the difference. But this board game was a little challenging for them because here they have the difference and they had to identify one subtraction sum means one minuend and one subtrahend for the difference. They effectively used  thinking skills while applying their understanding about subtraction. The students really enjoyed playing this game in pairs and showed cooperation and respect towards their peers.
