Highlights of the day – 23rd March, 2017

Math: Learners learnt how all the angles of a triangle sum upto 180 degrees. They also learnt why objects are specifically of triangle shape.

Language: Learners answered the questions in their Language notebook after listening to the audio story.

Math: Draw a pie chart for the sum written in your geometry book.

Language: Complete the question-answers of the audio story.

UOI: Worksheet given on reversible and irreversible changes.

Language :

  • Students prepared Draft 2 after revising on the basis of teacher feedback. They then used CUPS strategy to edit their work.
  • Students prepared Draft 3 after editing. After working on the feedback by the teacher, students finally published their work.

UOI:

  • Teacher did a read aloud of the story “Riaz and Mukund” and later the students reflected on their understanding of the story in their notebooks.

Homework:

  • Find the product: 45× 2,  46 × 4,  39× 4 ,  19  × 2
  • Language worksheet.

Learners solved a worksheet. Later, teacher modelled a division word problem for the learners’.

The concept of ‘Debate’ was introduced in the class. Discussion on the etiquette’s  of debate was held.

Math: Learners solved a worksheet. Later, they solved a division word problem.

Language: The concept of ‘Debate’ was introduced in the class. Learners were tuned in to the word ‘Debate.

Highlights:

Language : Teacher modeling of ‘Narrative Writing’ for the topic ‘The Day of Celebration Of Learning’ was completed.

Math: Formative Assessment of the word problems pertaining to unlike fractions was taken.

UOI: Students were divided into groups after which they surveyed the students of Grade 3 to gauge the demand and decide their goods/services accordingly.

Students revised all the steps of the Writing Process orally with the teacher. Students did the Prewriting and drafting (Draft 1) of their own story focusing on all the essential elements of the story. They also revised their work using ARMS strategy.

Math:

Students revised the 3-D shapes done earlier and were introduced to new 3-D shapes along with their properties.

UOI:

Read aloud of the book “Coming to America” by Betsy Maestro was done.

Homework:

Complete the given math worksheet.

2. Students recapitulated the story “Rumplestiltskin” done in the previous class. They were then introduced to the magic solution. The students were then given certain situations and they discussed the magic solutions orally
