Highlights

Language

The students started writing a narrative piece on the topic- The best day  of school. They managed to complete Pre-writing, Drafting, Revisiting and Editing stages. They will complete the Publishing stage applying the feedback given to them by the teacher.

U.O.I

A discussion upon their responsibility, of being producers or suppliers was discussed in the class. Later, the students reflected upon the process of bringing together the Business Fair. They also made connections with the central idea, lines of inquiries, learner profiles, attitudes and skills they had been and will be focusing on through the ongoing summative assessment task.

  1. FA correction to be done.
  2. Solve the following:
    a) Shaurya and Aaryam started reading Matilda together. On the first day, both managed to complete 5 out of 14 pages of the first chapter. On the second day they completed reading another 7 pages. What fraction of the chapter have they completed so far?
    b) For the business fair, Shloka and Priyal required 80 paper plates. Shloka agreed to bring 3/8th of the requirement. How many paper plates is Priyal required to bring for the fair?
    c) Harsh covers 5/7th of a kilometer on his wave board on Saturday. He covered 2/4th of a kilometer on Sunday. What fraction of a kilometer did he cover during the weekend?
    d) Aanya and Manya cleaned 1/3rd of the classroom together. Further, Shanaya and Pranshav cleaned 4/9th of the classroom. What part of the classroom still remains uncleaned?

Note: The students are reminded to bring along the Book Review sheet tomorrow without fail.

Highlights:-

Students were grouped based on their interest in inquiry and discovered the big idea that they share in common. They then started with narrowing down their research work by connecting their idea with a particular subject to research on. Some of the groups got an opportunity to meet their mentors and set up essential agreement and discuss the strengths and weakness of each other.

Highlights

U.O.I: The students discussed the details for the upcoming business fair in groups. They also reflected on the survey and identified the resources needed for the fair.

Language: The “We do” narrative writing piece on “My first day of Grade 4” was completed by following the writing process.

Math: The students appeared for a Formative assessment to check for their understanding of word problems based on Fractions.

Homework

Language: Complete the revisiting /editing and Publishing of the narrative writing done in the class.

  • Two Different stories were read aloud to the students and they reflected upon their understanding through reflection tool – ‘Find the facts and Find the Feelings.’

Math:

  • Students revised the concept of Framing Good questions for conducting survey wherein they practiced making Dichotomous, Multiple Choice and Continuum Questions.
  • Chrome book slot: Students revised the different concepts of Math through Kahoot.

Language:

  • Read aloud of two books were done in the class today.
  • Library slot: Students issued library books.

Homework:

Language notebook:   Frame sentences using the following noun pairs:  1)candles, birthday 2) fish, river 3) lion, jungle 4) sand, toys.

Math notebook: Formulate Dichotomous, Multiple Choice and Continuum Questions on the topic ‘Homework’.  (Refer today’s classwork for reference)

Language:

  • Students prepared Draft 2 after revising on the basis of teacher feedback. They then used CUPS strategy to edit their work.
  • Students prepared Draft 3 after editing. After working on the feedback by the teacher, students finally published their work.

Math:

  • Revision of multiplication word problems was given to the students.
  • The students wrote the properties of 3D shapes and also the definition of faces, edges and vertices in their notebook.

Homework:

  1. Language notebook: Frame sentences using the following words: between, country, thought, under, story, light.

Highlight

UOI:

Students made a map of their journey of the business fair. Where they independently jotted down the whole process they went through to arrive till business fair.

Language:

Students after making the mindmap in the prepriting stage, wrote a narrative piece on “The favourite day at school” using the “drafting” and “revisiting and editing” stage.

Homework

Language Writing:

Find synonyms of the words: sad,unhappy, angry, stressed, tense, lonely, worried, emotional.

Find the meaning of the Words and write in the Language writing book: beloved, honour, affectionate, nipped, gnawed, sniffed, bleak, trinket, keepsake, woodchuck, grinned.

  • Students, with the help of the teacher solved an exercise ‘My big adventure’ given in the book – Language with Ease (page no. 106), where they used adjectives to complete the exercise and then with students’ responses the teacher extended the story.
  • Students solved an exercise given in the book – Language with Ease (page no. 107), where they used adjectives to complete the exercise and then extended the story in groups.
  • Reading time was given.

 

Maths:

  • Students revised the concept of Framing Good questions for conducting survey wherein they practiced making Dichotomous, Multiple Choice and Continuum Questions.
  • Students revised the different concepts of Math through Kahoot.

UOI:

  • Students reflected their understanding on the story of Riaz and Mukund through ‘Padlet’
