Language:

Students, with the help of the teacher solved an exercise ‘My big adventure’ given in the book – Language with Ease (page no. 106), where they used adjectives to complete the exercise and then with students’ responses the teacher extended the story.

LWE-Week 19-Day 1 was explained and discussed with the students.

UOI:

A read aloud of the story “My two Blankets” was done and reflection was taken using a thinking tool.

Language :

  • Students solved an exercise given in the book – Language with Ease (page no. 107), where they used adjectives to complete the exercise and then extended the story in groups.
  • Students started with a Debate on the topic “Food Policy”. Later, the students revised the process and co-created an advertisement for selling the book “The Magic Finger” along with the teacher.

 

  • LWE: Week 19,day 1 was done.
  • Reading time was given.
  • Students chose  Language pieces for their portfolio.

 

UOI:

  • A read aloud of the story “My two Blankets” was done and reflection was taken using a thinking tool.

Important note:

  • Please send 2 books tomorrow, to read during the DEAR time  which will be in the assembly slot.

LEAP- analogous model making of lungs and diaphragm

LEAP- analogous model making of lungs and diaphragm

The learning engagement of LEAP session was in integration with the “Human Body” unit in which learners made an analogous model of respiratory system.

Learning outcome was to know how the different organs of respiratory system work and make breathing possible. The teacher did a revision on the parts of organs used for respiration and discussed the function of the respiratory system using the terms- exhale, inhale, expand and contract.

Using different resources like straws, balloons, plastic bottle, rubber bands and clay and making the model of lungs and diaphragm, when the learners pulled the knotted balloon downwards, the balloons in the bottle expanded showing that when the diaphragm moves down, it creates space within our body cavity and hence allows air to enter lungs .As a result, lungs expand. When the learners let go the stretched balloon i.e the diaphragm, it moves upward and the space in the body cavity decreases causing the lungs to contract and push air out.

The learners understood the functioning of the respiratory system very well with this maker activity.
