Math: Students appeared for the Summative Assessment on Fraction.

Math: Solve the following:

a) Manit ate 10/12 of a pie, whereas Rishabh ate 5/7 of a pie. Who ate more pie and by what fraction?

b) For the business fair, Shayna and Priyal required 80 paper plates. Shayna agreed to bring 3/8th of the requirement. How many paper plates is Priyal required to bring for the fair?

c) Hardik covers 5/7th of a kilometer on his wave board on Saturday. He covered 2/4th of a kilometer on Sunday. What fraction of a kilometer did he cover during the weekend?

d) Aarti cleaned 1/3 of the classroom. Later, Sharvari cleaned 4/9 of the classroom. What fraction of the classroom still remains uncleaned?

[Highlight Of The Day]
Students did the following tasks today:
1. Finalized LOI’s, sub-questions, Big Idea as well as the topic definition. They also finalized their group name.
2. Worked on their resource bank.
3. They brainstormed about the scope of primary research, like field trips, survey, interview, observations etc, for their respective topics.

Homework

1. Start reading the information from the links and resources shared by your mentors or the ones searched by you.
2. Complete the tasks given by your mentors.
3. Submit articles, poetry, field trip pictures, write up, etc for the website blog.
4. Tomorrow is the last day for submitting your artwork for the PYPX invitation card. Make sure you work on it today.

Homework for the day:
As discussed in the class, you are supposed to work on the following tasks:-

1) Write down the Cyclic Reflection for the last cycle in your PYP journal. Also, update the cyclic reflection checklist and the blob worksheet.

Things done in this Cycle:

Selecting the topic to be inquired.
Selecting Art Component
Narrowing down the topic
Framing of Big Idea and task definition
Selecting the group name

2. Look for the answers to the factual questions(close ended) which you’ve prepared.

3. These tasks should be completed in your sheet by today end of the day:-

1st level and 2nd level of questions
Lines of inquiry,with connection to key concepts, with 2 factual questions under each LOI.

4. If you are doing primary research, be ready with the questions for data collection, so that we can provide you feedback on the same tomorrow.

  • Learners’ took formative assessment on “Respiratory system”.
  • In PE class a learning engagement related to circulatory system was taken up.

Solve the following word problems:

a)  If 475 kg of wheat is packed in 16 bags, how much wheat will each bag contain?
b)  Smita has 216 flowers. She wants to put 6 flowers in each vase. How many vases will she need?
c)  In kala utsav, students had 108 displays. There were 12 displays in each row. How many rows of displays were there?
d) Create a word problem using division fact 56 / 8.

Lang:

Draw the galaxy in the A4 sheet as explained in class.

Math: Students appeared for the Summative Assessment on Fraction.

  •  Students revised the process and co-created an advertisement for selling the book “The Magic Finger” along with the teacher.
  • Summative assessment was conducted.
  • Dictation was conducted.
  • Read aloud was done.

  • Q1. Solve the following sums: 85 x 3, 96 x 4 , 22 x 7, 64 x 5
  • Q2. Solve the following word problems: 1. Lucy has 36 CDs in each rack. She has 3 racks. How many CDs does she have in all?                                                                                       2. William watches 4 cartoons every day. How many cartoons does he watch over 85 days?

  3. Form the questionnaire for you primary research and share it with your mentor and teachers.
  4. Update your PYP echibiton journal referring to yesterday’s blogpost.
  5. Write the answers to the following worksheet in A4 sheet
