Day 5

Star of the day: Shrikritt Jajoo and Aagam Chhalani (For being an outstanding reader)

Highlights:

Math:

Students attended I Do session of creating a double bar graph from the survey data simultaneously making connections to the research skills. Thereafter they made a double bar graph independently post which feedback was given on improvements if needed.

Language:

Students were tuned into the topic “Synonym power” from the Language EE reference book. Later on they independently found the synonyms for the word “Fall” also jotting it down on their chits thereafter created sentences on them and shared it in class.

Homework:

Language:

a) Students will use the thesaurus and find a list of synonyms for the verb “walk” and “shout”- minimum 6 synonyms.

b) Students will find the meaning of any 3 synonyms and create 3 brilliant – vivid sentence each on “walk” and “shout”. Also use strong adverbs to describe the verb.

Math:

Students will create a double bar graph in their graph book.

1. Students took up a formative assessment of ‘Survey’.
2. Students were introduced to ‘Double Bar Graph’. Later, they plotted a double bar graph independently in their graph book.

A whole class discussion on making the description of a setting vivid was taken up.

[Homework]

1. Students have to write a paragraph to describe the bedroom shown in the picture below by using descriptive words. (Keep today’s session in mind while describing).
Criteria: Use at least 5 descriptive adjectives, 2 strong verbs, and at least 1 adverb.

2. Students have to use the thesaurus and find a list of synonyms for the verbs “walk” and “shout”- minimum 6 synonyms. Frame brilliant sentences using any one synonym for the above verbs. Also, use adverbs to describe the verb.

Day 5, Tuesday.

Language:

1. Students were introduced to the term ‘Synonym’. Later, they found the synonyms of ‘Fall’ and made sentences using them.

Math: Students differentiated between data table and graph using the graphic organizer “Compare and contrast”. Next they matched the relevance of graph with the kind of data we have on hand.

Homework:

Language: Use the thesaurus and find a list of synonyms for the verb walk and shout- minimum 3 synonyms. Frame brilliant sentences using the synonym for the above verbs. Also use adverbs to describe the verb.
