  1. Use the thesaurus and find a list of synonyms for the verb “run”. Find as many synonyms as you can and make the sentence on any 3 of the synonyms. Frame brilliant sentences using the synonym. Also, use adverbs to describe the verb.
  2. Revise and edit the setting of ‘My bedroom’ using maximum descriptive words in a paragraph on the basis of new understanding obtained in class. (Minimum 30 words)

Ahmedabad Ultimate Open (AUO) 2018

Ahmedabad Ultimate Open (AUO) 2018

Dear Parents,

This note is for especially Ultimate Frisbee PS students, but also for students from PS who have been asked to show interest to play this tournament. 2-3 school teams will be going as well as another 3-4 teams from Surat. While most Fountainhead students will be playing in the school teams, some students will also be playing with other Surat teams. Here are the details of the same tournament:

Players from Surat will be travelling to Ahmedabad for AUO 2018 scheduled on 26-27-28 January 2018. The main venue for the tournament is:

Kasa Football Ground, Next To Soham Tower, Opposite Skum School, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad – 380015

 

Travel Details:

Thursday, 25 January 2018

Non-AC sleeper buses will depart from two different venues:

  • From  Fountainhead School at 3:20 p.m.
  • Fom Vanita Vishram Ground at 9:20 p.m.

Based on which team the student is playing with and the allocation of the adults, we will allocate the students to the buses.

Arrival date Students will leave for Surat on Sunday, 28 January by evening 6:00 pm approx and will reach Surat by 1:00 am. Exact time of arrival will be shared later.

 

Accommodation:

  • Accommodation will be in some near by dormitory or dharamshala.
  • Seperate rooms for boys and girls
  • Each room will have about 5-6 people depending upon type of rooms confirmed.

 

Food:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner for all days will be provided from school.
  • Students will have to carry snacks for travelling.

 

No. of people:

  • There will be approx 100-120 players from Surat (5-6 teams)
  • 8-9 school staff and other responsible adults from the Surat Ultimate community will accompany the students. Specific adults will be assigned the responsibility of the teams which will be shared at a later stage.

 

Cost:

  • The over all cost will approx Rs. 5000/- (inclusive of transportation, food, accommodation and misc expense, tournament registration fees as well as the cost of travel and coaching for the extra camps that teams are intending to take up).
  • In case the cost is less or more, the final amount will be adjusted from the imprest account of the students.

 

Please note that the school teams will be decided by the school coaches, Mr. Mitesh Patel and Mr. Jagdish Sansare (assistant coach). However, to express your interest in participating at AUO, you need to send a confirmation Cheque of Rs. 5000/- to be paid in school latest by Wednesday, 20 December 2017 (in favour of “Ultimate Sports & Education Trust”). Please mention the student’s name, grade & section behind the cheque and the same needs to be submitted at Front desk.

 

In case, your ward is not selected for the final team, then the cheque will be returned to you latest by January 15th.

Learners explored various simple machines through gallery walk.

Math:

Students practiced the multiplication of 2-digit number by 2-digit number (with regrouping) using area model in their notebooks.

Language:

  • Students watched a video related to the planets in the universe and some images of spaceships and aliens to activate their background knowledge. Afterwards chapter no. 20 ‘Our Space Trip with the Aliens’ of Empowering English was read and the question no. 2 and 3 given at the end of the chapter were answered in the textbook itself.
  • Read aloud was done.
