Highlights and homework – Day 3 & 4 – December 20th and 21st

UOI: Learners derived the central idea and through the bus stop engagement, they explored the meaning of the words from the central idea. CI – Central idea: Media can influence and alter our perceptions and choices.

They also summed up their understanding of the 1st LOI: The elements of media that influence behaviour of specific audience (Function)

Language Reader: Learners read chapter 4 from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as the formative assessment for their reading skills. Later they answered MCQ to show their understanding.

Language Writing: Learners explored sensory words by watching the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwLKPDJqldw

Later, they were introduced to the importance of creating the mood in the writing. The teacher demonstrated the creation of mood by consciously choosing the word. She then identified the words from the passage which helped to create the mood. They understood that with proper choice of words they can either create the negative or positive mood.

Homework:

Language: Comprehend the chapter “The sea storm” from the Language reference book and do the task exercise after the chapter along with the grid.

Math: Find the HCF of: 1) 8 and 14 2) 25 and 15 3) 17 and 37 4) 9 and 43 5) 30 and 45

Teacher role modeled the multiplication of 2-digit number by 2-digit number using lattice method.

Formative Assessment was conducted.

Language

Answers to the questions given at the end of the chapter ‘Max Crosses The Road’ of Empowering English were discussed.Oral activities related to ‘Language’ ‘Think and Guess’, Compound Words, Root recognition, Phonics and Chunking words given on page 97 (Empowering English) were performed.

Students were given a passage to read from the chapter 8 ‘How Can They Escape?’ from the reader The Magic Faraway Tree and asked to identify the main idea and the supporting details.

Language

Read the chapter ‘Max Crosses The Road’ on page no. 93 from the reference book- Empowering English.
