We are soon going to enter the most important phase of the PYP, the culmination of the programme – The PYP Exhibition (PYPX). PYPX represents a significant event in the life of a PYP school and student, synthesizing the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the whole school community. The students are required to engage in a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process that involves them in identifying, researching and finding solutions to real life issues related to the topic they have chosen.
During this process, it is also important for us to provide opportunities, in form of field trips, for students to get out of classroom and experience something new. Based on the requirements for the inquiry process, we have finalised an educational trip to Little Rann of Kutch (LRK) from 5th March – 10th March 2017 (in 2 batches).
The trip to LRK will:
Be a rich learning environment as students will be able to explore and inquire from actual hands-on experiences, rather than by simply reading or hearing about it. Involving in real world experience will make the inquiry process more meaningful and memorable resulting in a conceptual understanding of the topic.
Bring in a lot of expert insight – Opportunities to come out into the community to interact with experts to get first-hand information and experience.
Opportunities to take meaningful action – The things students observe and experience on this trip increase their motivation for learning and in turn broadens their horizon which leads to an action that arises from a genuine concern and commitment towards themselves as well as the society.
Provide opportunities to demonstrate and apply skills acquired during the PYP journey.
Hence, it is highly recommended for each and every student to participate in this educational trip, which will provide them a rich learning experience. These experiences will help them finalise a research topic that really matters to them to make the PYPX process a more meaningful and memorable one.

Chapter 11 – Up The Tree Again from the reader ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ was read led by a learning engagement where the students wrote a message to inform their parents that after school they are going to the fair with their friends.
