Star of the day: Rivaa (For being responsible and language leader)

Language reader: Students read and comprehended the remaining chapter 11 – The Bon Bon job using any 2 of the comprehension strategy of their choice.

Math: Students revised and practiced ‘Fractions’.

Doubts clarification session was taken up.

Weekend homework was checked as a class.

  1. Solve the sums given in the class.

Imp note: Students need to bring the measuring cups and measuring spoons (l/ml, preferably if the markings are also there in fractions), curd beater, lemon squeeze on Thursday.

UOI: SHARING THE PLANET

  • The discussion was taken on the related concepts such as energy, finite and infinite resources. An article was read on energy and petroleum.

Homework:

  • UOI: Look around and list out at least 5 things that are using energy. Decide where each item gets its energy and how it uses it. (Refer to the example mentioned in the journal sheet)

Solve the following in your Maths notebook.

a) Divya is hungry and decides to eat whatever is in the fridge. There is 6/7 of leftover pizza in the fridge. Divya eats 1/4 of that leftover pizza in the fridge. What fraction of pizza is left?

b) Vicky’s mocktails recipe requires one 1/3 cup of orange juice, one 2/3 cup of strawberry juice. What is the fraction of liquid used altogether in the recipe.

c) Nimisha has done 11/15 of her  math homework, Kalindi has done 7/15 of her homework. Who has done more homework and by what fraction?

d) On her birthday, Namrata bought 20 homemade cupcakes to school to share with her friends. If her friends ate 13/20 of the cupcakes. And her younger brother ate 3/20 cupcakes. What is the fraction of cupcakes left with Namrata?

e) Vaidehi bakes an apple pie. The boys in the house ate 1/8 of it and the girls ate 3/5 of the apple pie. What fraction of the pie did the boys and girls together consume?

UOI

The students understood the meaning of the words ‘Needs’ and ‘Wants’ through an activity. Later, they reflected on their understanding and made connections with their lives.

Read aloud of the book ‘Common Ground’ by Molly Bang was done to deepen their understanding on how human choices impact the environment and what would be the consequences if people do not care for the resources ?

Language

Summative Assessment was conducted.

Homework

Complete the Pre writing and Drafting of your own story choosing any of the options given in chapter 10 ‘The Sea Kingdom’ of Empowering English book.

Bring your goal work tomorrow without fail.
