Language

The 17th chapter – ‘Rick Gets Everyone into Trouble’ of the reader ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’  was read. The teacher discussed the personality and behavior of few characters in the chapter.

Math

Students practiced Division sums.

UOI

The students celebrated their learning by presenting their understanding of the unit ‘Natural Resources’ to the students of Grade 4.

• Students visited few famous places in Surat and collected information.

Language:

• Dictation was given.
• Students enhanced their listening, reading and speaking skills by enacting the story ‘The Snowman’ followed by few activities related to the same.
• Reading from the book Captain Coconut and the case of missing bananas was done.

• Descriptive Writing – Students described their school by following the steps of writing.

Math:

• Learners constructed meaning of regrouping subtraction through different manipulatives and also solved the sums in the notebook.

Star of the week : Jash Kingrani

Math

Students constructed meaning for the topic of area and perimeter. They also derived the formula for the perimeter of rectangle and square in the geometry notebook.

[Unit Of Inquiry]

Students were given an exposure to various materials for exploration. Prior knowledge about these materials was taken up through a graphic organiser in the UOI notebook where they mentioned the characteristics of the given materials.

Homework

A)  Complete the Mixed Bag Sheet in the Mixed Bag notebook. The sheet has been shared with you through Google Drive. It has also been uploaded on the Blendspace link, tile – 14.

Math

Look for any object at your home which is either of the given shapes : square, rectangle or triangle shape. Find its perimeter in cm and bring the object to school on Monday.

Also remember to carry the geometry box and colours as discussed in class.
