We take pride and pleasure in announcing that our school is hosting an Arts Workshop on Phad painting which will be led by one of the master artists of this art form – Shri Kalyan Joshi.
Shri Kalyan Joshi started learning and working with his father and Guru Shree Shrilal Joshi in his childhood at a young age of eight. The Joshi family have been the traditional artists of Phad for the last few centuries. Shri Kalyan Joshi has given new dimensions to Phad painting with his monochromatic renditions, collaborations with narrative poetry and more. He received the prestigious National Award in 2012. He is also the founder of “ANKAN” Kala Sansthan, Bhilwara, which works on promoting this traditional folk art by teaching Phad painting to thousands of children. During a span of 15 years of ANKAN, he has organized 30 exhibitions in Bhilwara.
This workshop is open for students of grade 5 and 6. Minimum 25 entries are required to conduct this workshop. Approximate charges will be Rs 450/- to 550/- per child which are inclusive of all the required materials and school transport. Timing of the workshop will be 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.
