Circle Time

Morning circle was conducted.

Recitation of poetry was done.  

[Language]

Descriptive writing on ‘My favourite animal’ was taken up from the pupil book.

Ch. 12 – ‘Eve and Steve ’ from Empowering English was conducted.

[Math]

Introduction of addition facts up to 10 and commutative property was done by using manipulative.

Introduction of Addition story problems involving single digit was done.

Unit of Inquiry:                                                                                                          

The unit under the TDT ‘Who we are’ began. Students could understand their Physical and emotional characteristics through the class discussion followed by few activities.

  • Paste the UOI worksheets for this unit, in your UOI+ Language C.W/H.W notebook, if not yet done.
  • Math primary and secondary research data collection on the problem statement ‘Students do not realize the importance of reading’, has to be completed and updated in the folder shared, if not yet done.
  • Update the following spreadsheet. Update ‘Sheet 2’ of it:

  • Research extensively to upgrade your scientific knowledge about the concepts applicable to your project work. You may also talk to your parents about your project idea.   • Create a flowchart of the scientific method. Use the article for reference. It has been shared with you.

Unit Of Inquiry

Transdisciplinary theme: How we express ourselves

Central Idea: People may use different art forms to express their culture.

UOI:

  • Summative assessment and end of the unit reflection were taken.

Language:

  • Students learned a strategy “List-Group-Label” to enhance their vocabulary.
  • Poem Comprehension- ‘Sound’ and ‘Touch’ poem from the Empowering English book were done and the answers were discussed.

Math:

  • Students learned different types of the calendar and it’s importance.
  • Revision of round off- nearest to tens and hundreds were done.
  • The inverse relation of addition and subtraction.
  • Compensation strategy was introduced.
  • Subtraction FA was taken.

HOMEWORK

Math: Complete the given worksheet.

Language: Read the comprehension from the link and answer the questions in the Language Homework notebook.

Language:

  • Learners were given a passage from chapter 8 of the reader ” How can they escape” to read and identify the key details using comprehension strategy – main idea and the supporting details.
  • Chapter 10 – A Few More Adventures from the reader ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ was read . The difficult words of the chapter were discussed.
  • Dictation was conducted.

UOI:

  • Students read an article related to Landforms and answered the questions asked related to the same.

Life class:

  • Second session on bullying was conducted.

Homework:

  • Complete the given mixed bad worksheet.
