Inter House Music Competition 2018-19 – Grade 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Dear Parent,

We are glad to announce for the most awaited Arts event of the year – The Inter-house Music Competition 2018-19 to be held on 17th January 2018 (Day 1)

As you may have observed, IB ideology and methodology supports and encourages extensive collaborative opportunities for the learners. This year all the four grades (3, 4, 5, 6) will be having their inter house competition on the same day but in different slots.

Following are the categories of the competition:

Grade 3 : Group song

(Minimum 4 and maximum of 8 students in each group)
If more then 8 students will be selected from a particular house, then 2 groups will be made according to the number of participants.

Grade 4 : Solo performance

Keyboard
Drum
Guitar
Recorder

Grade 5 : Solo performance

Vocal
Keyboard
Drum
Guitar

Grade 6 : Solo performance

Note that the selection of students will be done only on the basis of their talent and caliber/ability.

Best performers from each category and each grade will be selected by the Music teacher.

Selected participants will have to stayback for 2 days for the practice sessions that will be monitored by the Music teacher.

Registration process:

Grade 3, 4, 5, 6 :
Students can register with their Music teacher in the respective Music class till cycle 19 i.e. between 10th December and 17th December, 2018.

Note that no request for registration will be entertained after 18th December, 2018.

Rules:

Exceeding time limit will lead to disqualification.
Age appropriate song according to the school values needs to be selected.

Criteria:

Maintaining pitch and tune (Sur and dhun)
Maintaining rhythm and tempo
Maintaining dynamics appropriate to the composition
Individual participation and synchronization
Energy and overall expression

Audition date and time for grade 3 : 27th December, 2018 (Day 1) (Slot 7 : 12.35 to 1.35)
Audition date and time for grade 4 : 21st December, 2018 (Day 4) (Slot 7 : 12.35 to 1.35)
Audition date and time for grade 5 : 24th December, 2018 (Day 5) (Slot 7 : 12.35 to 1.35)

Audition venue for all the grades: Crescendo (Music room)

If any student, misses the audition due to absenteeism then she/he will not be auditioned again.

Note : Students going for Nature Camp will be auditioned in their regular music slot. (Only for Grade 4 – Tenacity, Responsibility, Valour and Resilience)

વ્હાલા વાલી મીત્રો,

બાળકોના મૌખિક કૌશલ્ય વિકસાવવા અને શબ્દભંડોળ ને પ્રોત્સાહિત કરવા માટે ગુજરાતી ભાષાની ‘Literary Event’ લઈને આવી રહ્યા છીએ,જેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ “ચિત્ર વર્ણન” ૧ મિનિટમાં કરવાનું રહેશે.

“Literary Event Cycle – 19 (10th Dec – 17th Dec)” માં જે તે ગુજરાતી વર્ગમાં(slot) લેવામાં આવશે.જેના માપદંડ (criterias) નીચે મુજબ છે.

બાળકોની ‘Social skills’ વિકસાવવા અને વાંચન કૌશલ્યને પ્રોત્સાહન આપવા માટે ગુજરાતી ભાષાની ‘Literary Event’ લઈને આવી રહ્યા છીએ.

“Literary Event Cycle – 19 (10th Dec – 17th Dec)” માં જે તે ગુજરાતી slot માં  લેવામાં આવશે. જેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ‘Inter house’ પ્રમાણે સમૂહમાં વહેચવામાં આવશે. ‘વાર્તા વાંચી તેને યોગ્ય ઘટનાક્રમમાં ગોઠવવવાની (story sequencing)‘ રહેશે. જે સમૂહ સૌથી ઓછા સમયમાં વાર્તાને ઘટનાક્રમમાં ગોઠવશે તે સમૂહ વિજેતા બનશે.

यह “Literary Event Cycle – 19 (10th Dec – 17th Dec)” में उनके गुजराती slot में ली जाएगी | जिसमे विद्यार्थियों को ‘Inter house’ के समूह में विभाजित किया जायेगा | इस ‘Literary Event’ में कहानी को पढ़कर घटनाक्रम (story sequencing) अनुसार लगानी होगी | जो समूह सब से कम समय में कहानी को क्रमानुसार लगाएगा  वह समूह विजेता  बनेगा |

नोट: कृपया विद्यार्थियों को वाचन करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करें, जिससे उन्हें  ‘Literary Event’ में सफलता प्राप्त हों |

Students visited an enterprise ‘ Nish Techno Project Pvt Limited’ as a part of their learning engagement for their ongoing unit. They understood the Structure and Function of the organization. They also got a chance to interact with the management and the employees of the company to understand their role and how they solve the problems within the organization.

વ્હાલા વાલી મિત્રો,

બાળકોના રજૂઆત કૌશલ્ય અને શબ્દભંડોળનું જ્ઞાન વિકસાવવા માટે ગુજરાતી ભાષાની “Literary Event – show and Tell” લઈને આવી રહ્યા છે જેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓ કોઈ એક ફ્લેશ કાર્ડ પસંદ કરીને ચિત્ર ઓળખી અને તેના વિષે 1 minute બોલવાનું રહેશે.

Literary Event Cycle- 19(10th Dec – 17th Dec) માં જે તે ગુજરાતી slot માં લેવામાં આવશે. આ EVENT નાં માપદંડ નીચે મુજબ છે.

UOI: Learners watched advertisements of BYJU’sDettol and Quit Smoking to understand the role of media. They derived that media messages are created to Persuade, Inform and Entertain (PIE). Further, they made a connection to Aristotle’s method of persuasion through rhetorical elements: logos, the logic and reasoning in the message; ethos, the character, credibility and trustworthiness of the communicator; and pathos, the emotional dimension.

Math: Learners organised the data collected through the survey and later constructed the bar graph. Further, they were introduced to the double bar graph and practised the same.

Language: Learners practised the comprehension strategy ‘Determining Importance.’

Homework:

Language: Create a Google document for Language Mixed bag HW and share the same with your HRT. You also have a choice to do the HW on paper. Ensure to follow the steps of writing (Pre-writing, Drafting, Revising, Editing and Publishing)

Math:

  1. Complete the double bar graphs for Q3.
  2. Complete the Math Mixed bag HW on a piece of paper.
