Dear Parents,
Kindly refer to the table below indicating the slots booked by you for PTC i.e. on 3rd November. Your participation and support are crucial in order to help us lead your child to the path of success. Thus, please ensure your presence for the PTC. You are requested to go through the detailed Term 1 report which has been shared.

Note: Consider the following as the final slots. No further changes can be made. Each slot will be for 15 minutes. You are requested to adhere to the time allotted to you.

Dear Students,

Today you completed the Summative Assessment task for Data Handling Interview. Then, we had a skype session with Linkee ma’am in the Y-Box to know more about her beliefs and values. Later, we revised the concepts we covered in Math throughout Term 1 – Fractions and mixed numbers operations, Calculating Mean and Mode, and BODMAS.

Homework

  • Memorize your Role Models speech, for the Literary Event, and bring the papers back tomorrow.
  • Revise the concepts covered in Math (from your Math notebook) and prepare for the Term End Assessment.

Dear Intrepid Students, 😀

I’m sure you must be tired of having all HRMs today. But, you all remained enthusiastic throughout and completed the assigned tasks well. Today, we first saw a video about public speaking (Kiran Bedi) and then, brainstormed the criteria to be kept in mind while giving a speech. Then, you read a speech and tried to read it aloud, keeping the public etiquette in mind. Finally, you worked in groups to research the famous personalities and their beliefs and values, using the Big 6 research model.

Homework

  • Complete the Research (first 5 steps of Big 6) by tomorrow.
  • Complete the Public Speaking task assigned on Google Classroom.

Then, you all guessed and uncovered the Central Idea for the unit (Choices of Role Models reflect the beliefs and values of individuals and societies). Finally, you attended the Graded 8 Business Fair. 😀 🙂

In the first HRM slot today, we continued with our book review for September. Then, we began with the Interview session (tuning in) wherein you responded to several statements, regarding interview questions, by moving to the corners – “I Agree”, “I Disagree” or “I’m confused”. Subsequently, we continued building upon your prior knowledge about the ‘What makes Good Interview Questions’ and, ‘Things to Avoid while framing the Questions’.

Finally, you enjoyed your Play Time (with 13 bonus minutes) !!!

Later, we watched the introductory videos about Teach for India and Kids Education Revolution, which was followed by a brief discussion about the upcoming guest speaker session. Then, you jotted down some points using the graphic organizer – “What’s going on in my mind”. Finally, during the last slot, you posed several questions or topics that you want to inquire/know more about.

Today, you gave an amazing book review. For those who are yet to give the retell, we’ll continue with that on Wednesday. In the HRM slots, you collaborated and worked in groups to read an article and practice note-taking (by using Cornell’s method); I observed that you now have a clear understanding and are able to separate the main points from extra information.

During the first slot, we watched a video about the good qualities of a role model. Then, we briefly discussed it and I jotted down your responses. Consequently, a team teaching session was taken up by me and Dipti ma’am, wherein you and students of Reciprocity collaboratively learned the note-taking skills (by using Cornell’s Method).

We started our day today by discussing your learnings about LOI-1: What determines our beliefs and values. Then, we moved on to explore the second LOI (How and why we choose our role models); here you participated in an activity wherein you jotted down various “Wow” things about your Role Model. Later on, you continued with the Data Handling SA and selected the portfolio pieces for UOI (Digital Media).

  • Add the portfolio piece comments in the Spreadsheet. Be mindful to follow the example shared with you (in the sheet).
