Student Exchange Program 2018-19

Student Exchange Program 2018-19

Student Exchange Program

Fountainhead School has been conducting the Student Exchange Program since four years. First two years we did the exchange with Sreenidhi International School, Hyderabad and then with Silver Oaks School, Hyderabad. Last year our exchange partner was MLSI School, Mumbai.  We are pleased to inform that this year again our partner school would be Mount Litera School International,  Mumbai.

Purpose:

Student exchanges are intended to increase the participants’ understanding and tolerance of other cultures, as well as improving their language skills and broadening their social horizons.

Experience from last year’s visit:

In 2017-18, 20 students from Grade 5 accompanied by Ms. Neha Girnara and Ms. Seema Tater visited MLSI, Mumbai and spent 3 days understanding the school and its culture. They could actually experience the PYP in action and demonstrated all their learning in various ways through assembly presentations, classroom visits and most importantly the environment and best practices of the school. The students were left awestruck by the different language, lifestyle, food, hospitality, and sightseeing after school hours.

The details of the program are as follows:

  • Partner school – MLSI – Mumbai(http://mlsi.in/)
  • Our visit to MLSI, Mumbai, will be from 16th December 2018 to 19th December 2018.
  • The cost would be approximately Rs. 5000/-. Students are required to fund their own participation for their visit to Mumbai. (The cost may change depending on the number of students finalized for the program)

Points to remember:

  • Accommodation will be in the school itself for our students and also when MLSI students visit FS.
  • FS parents do not have to host MLSI students at their home for the stay.
  • Students and parents are expected to host visiting students for post-school activities like hosting an evening at a farmhouse, dinner, high tea etc. The same will be done by MLSI parents when our students visit them.

Note about Potluck Party

Note about Potluck Party

Diwali aayee Diwali aayee… khushiyon ki bahaar laayee..

Our Early years’ students are learning this song in their morning circle! Diwali is indeed a special festival for most of us. One of the traditions associated with Diwali is the traditional sweetmeats and namkeens associated with the festival. So, to help our students connect with their roots and partake in traditions associated with festivals, the potluck this time will have the theme of Diwali special.

You can send with your child any food or sweet that is part of your family’s Diwali tradition. Don’t send a lot, you can send enough just for him/her to share with 3-4 friends. It will be nice if your child is involved in some way in preparation of the food that day and can share the significance/ ritual associated with what he/she has brought. If you do not celebrate Diwali or it is not possible for you to make any food or sweet that is a part of your family tradition, you may choose to send any traditional food item.

Students will have the Potluck party on 2nd November during their Home Meal Break (8:00 am to 8:40 am)

Happy Diwali!
