Dear Parents,

As we approach towards the culmination of this year, it’s time to make some sweet memories. We would like to end this journey with a “Crispy snack bite” for our lovely kids. So moms get on your toes, as the POTLUCK is due on 20th April and 21st April.

Kindly note that parents have to prepare food for 10 kids only as per the day allotted.

  • Revision of all the taught concepts (forward counting, backward counting, after numbers, before numbers, greater than, less than, pattern, days of the week and months of the year).
  • Assessment was conducted.
  • Oral chanting from 1 to 50

 

Unit of inquiry:

Transdisciplinary theme: Sharing the planet.

Central Idea: Plants sustain life on earth and play a role in our lives.

Field trip 1- Students visited the Botanical garden and went on a city tour to get a clear understanding of LOI 3, “How plants  contribute to life on Earth” wherein they observed and shared their understanding about importance and uses of plants.

  • Clay
  • Puzzles

Students enjoyed playing with the toys and mingled up with their friends. It helped them in enhancing their Social and Communication skills.

Phonological awareness activity-worksheet-  Teacher said a sentence and students had to  mark the number of words in the worksheet.

Revision of rhymes done till now.

Revision of letters and their sounds using the flashcards and objects .

  • Revision and introduction of blending cat, can, cap, act , pet, net, pen, ten hen, hat, hip, hit  rat, rip, ran, man, men, map, mat, hem, ham, him,ad, den, did, dip, sad, end, rid, red, mad, had, hid, din, kid, pad, leg, lips, help, plan,fit,fat,puff,soft.
  • Introduction of letter ‘f’ through a story where different flash cards  were shown.
  • Formation and action of letter f was taught to the learners.Action: The children bring their hands together, as if the fish is deflating,and make a continuous /ffffffffffff/ sound. Formation: It is a tall letter and has a tail that goes under the line.

Central Idea:- Stories are told in variety of ways for different purposes.

Introduction of the ELEMENT  “MIDDLE”  was done through a story.

Revision of the all ELEMENTS was done.

(who was there in the story, what happened in the story, where the story took place)

Discussion of beginning and end, author, illustrator, title of the story was done with all the read alouds taken in the class.

And were asked  them to discuss about  questions:

Then they described their puppet in front of the class.

Activity helped learners to improve their oral fluency.

Introduction of letter “p” through a story


1.The teacher has used a puppet of a princess and a prince and create a fairy tale story.

One day, a pretty princess stayed in a beautiful palace with her papa and mamma who were the king and the queen. There was a small animal farm nearby the palace. There were animals like a pig,a panda,a parrot, a peacock, ,a puppy, a penguin. Many people used to come to visit the farm to see the animals. One day a prince came from a far away place but how did he come ? He came in a pink parachute.He went to meet the king in the palace  and the palace was decorated with flower petals.The queen also made popcorns,peas pulao,pumpkin salad ,pasta and pineapple juice for them.The prince was very happy and gave a present to the king.

1.Introduced the symbol “” p ”’ and formation of the letter in the air. ( put your hand up, come down, pick it up and a curve). Learners also write letter “p” in the air with correct formation.Also, write the letter “p”on the board and introduce the name of the letter p
2.4.Teacher had done ‘p’… as an ending sound
3.Read aloud of ‘p’ book.
4.Teacher also asked for the new word to the students which has p..p.. sound.

Revision of pattern was done using different manipulatives.

For example, Rangometry, pencils, erasers, etc.
Learners were asked to make patterns using their own body. For example, Clap – Snap, Girl – Boy, Up – Down, Stand – Sit, etc

The teacher will talk about the 5 senses rhyme. After that the teacher asked students – what is this rhyme about?

Teacher asked them how many senses we have and count with them on fingers. Showing them five fingers (symbol for number five).
