Here are the details regarding the curriculum of Literature for the Mock examination :
Paper 1 – Poetry & Prose
Poems by Gillian Clarke
Prose – Hard Times by Charles Dickens
Duration – 1 hour 30 mins
Marks – 50 (Students will have to attempt 1 question from each component)
Weightage – 50%
Paper 3 – Drama (Open Text)
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Duration – 45 mins
Marks – 25 (Students will attempt only 1 question)
Weightage – 25%
Paper 4 – Unseen Text  (Poetry or Prose)
Duration – 1 hour 15 mins
Marks – 25 (Students will attempt only 1 question)

Weightage – 25%

G10_ESL_Term 1_Curriculum and Paper Pattern

G10_ESL_Term 1_Curriculum and Paper Pattern

Dear Parents,
Students of G10 will take the following exams for Second Language English (Speaking Endorsement):
Paper 2: Reading and Writing – students will be required to read and write responses ranging from 2 to 3 words to about 200 words as their response in this paper. The paper will include short one line responses, filling blanks, summarising, letter/e-mail writing and article writing exercises.
Time: 2 hours
Paper 4: Listening – students will listen to a set of recordings and write short responses ranging from one word to about 5 to 6 words.
Time: 45 minutes
Paper 5: Speaking – students will be given a role play card and they will have to hold a conversation with the examiner based on the topic given in the card. The conversation should last about 6 to 9 minutes.
Time: 15 minutes per student.

G12_English Language and Literature_Term 1_Curriculum and Paper Pattern

Dear Parents,
Students of G12 will take the following exams for English Language and Literature:
Paper 1 –
Unseen Textual Analysis (Standard Level)
Unseen Comparative Textual analysis (Higher Level)
Students will attempt any one section from the question paper.
Duration: 1 hour 30 mins for SL
                   2 hours for HL
Paper 2 –
Commentary based on texts taught in Part 3 works – students have to attempt one of the six questions given.
Duration: 1 hour 30 mins for SL
                   2 hours for HL
Texts on which the papers will be based are as follows:
Paper 1 – It could be from a range of text types including blogs, infographics, articles, speeches, web pages and Literary texts (for HL students only)
Paper 2 – The Dark Room by R.K Narayan and A Doll’s House by Henry Ibsen (both SL and HL)
                  Persepolis (HL only).
The revision will begin shortly.
