Highlights:

Math: Students practiced word problems based on addition and subtraction of unlike fractions.

Language: Students incorporated teacher’s feedback and worked on their Narrative Story Writing.

Homework:

Math: Do as directed:
a) Find the HCF of 18 and 54
b) Find the LCM of 86 and 92
c) Add: 5/6 + 2 /8
d) Subtract: 4/7 – 1/5
e) Simplify the following: i) 12/26 ii) 72/90
f) Anita filled a bucket with 2/3 liter of water. A few minutes later, she realized only 1/8 liter water remained. How much water had leaked out of the bucket?

  1. Students practiced comparing LIKE and UNLIKE fractions. Later, they learned to arrange fractions in the ascending and descending order.
  2. Learners appeared for the formative assessment.

Highlights:

UOI: Learners enthusiastically celebrated ‘Cultural Day’ under the unit: Who We Are by dressing up in their traditional attire. They also brought artefacts and amazingly made connections to their tradition, culture, beliefs, values, rituals and artefacts focusing on the line of inquiries:

LOI 2: How artefacts symbolize beliefs and values (Connection)

LOI 3: Similarities and differences between people’s beliefs (Perspectives)

Language: Teacher modelled out how to draft a narrative piece.

Homework:

Math: Solve the given fraction worksheets.

Note: Bring your Book review book for the month of February.
