Highlights:

Math and Language concepts were revised.
Attributes of Learner Profiles were discussed .

Read aloud of the story “Pokey and the Spelling Test” from the book The 7 habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey was conducted.

Homework: Language (to be done in Language note book)

Write a small passage to describe the Summer season. You can use your understanding of 5 senses and write about what you see/ hear/taste/feel/smell. (Homework has been explained in class.)

Dear Parents,

Mentioned below are the timings for the Student Led  Conference on (16/04/2017 ie. Sunday) booked by you. For the parents who did not book, the slots are allotted on the basis of availability. Kindly go through your child’s Term-2 report which  will be shared soon(check your mail for the same).

Kindly be on time and adhere to the time slot allotted to you (30 minutes for 2 students)

Students listened to an audio clip and later framed all the 4 types of sentences related to the same story in their language note books.

Read aloud of the book “Earthquakes” by Kathryn Harper was done in class.

U.O.I:

  1. A read aloud of the story “The hundred dresses” was done in connection to the current unit and reflection was taken using a thinking tool.
  2. Students solved a worksheet in which different experiences of people who have migrated were given and they had to identify the push or pull factors behind their migration and also write the impact on the place of origin and place of destination.

Homework:

Language: to be done in Language note book.

You are a realtor (a person who deals in the buying and selling of property) who wants to sell the planet – Mars in our solar system. Include the following points in your advertisement:

Planet name?

o What number is the planet from the sun?

o What is the distance from earth?

o What is the closest planet? How far away is that?

o What makes up the atmosphere? (Temperature, weather, etc.)

o What makes up the surface? (Any crustal activity? For example: quakes, volcanoes, etc.)

o What is its mass?

o Does the planet have any moons and/or rings? If so, what are their names?

o What is its orbital period? (How long does it take it to orbit the sun? How many “earth years” is that?)

o What is its rotation period? (How long does it take spin once around its axis?)

o What, if any, myth or legend is about this planet?

o Have any space missions visited this planet? Which ones? Did they land or just fly by?

o Anything else interesting? (Scientists have found frozen ice on Mars)

Note: You can write an interesting slogan for the advertisement. Also, do not forget to include the person or place to contact)
