Reminder for PYP Tarang 2018-19 (Arts and Design performances)

Dear Parent,

This is a kind reminder for the event, ‘Tarang 2018-19’ (Arts and Design Performances).

  • Date: 16th March 2019, Saturday
  • Venue: Fountainhead School
  • Timing: 8:30 am to 10:00 am for grade 3 and 4

             11:30 am to 1:00 pm for grade 5 and 6

  • Students of grade 3 and 4 will reach school by 8:00 am, click here for bus route.
  • Students of grade 5 and 6 will reach school by 11:00 am, click here for bus route.
  • After the event students will leave with the parents. Drop off transport will not be provided.
  • Parents need to carry RFID card without fail.

Note that the students are not allowed to bring any gadgets on the day of Tarang. If found, then the same will be confiscated immediately.

Important Note:

Please note that Grade 3 and 4 Drums and Guitar students’ performance will be held separately and the date for the same is 25th March 2019.

Over the past years, it has been observed that parents tend to start walking out of the venue as soon as their child’s performance is over which is disrespectful to the students, teachers and other parents and also creates disturbance at the venue. This experience led us to set the following rules for the audience:

  1. Parents cannot leave the venue in the middle of a performance. Exit will be prohibited once you enter. Security will be posted at each venue. Kindly cooperate with the staff and treat them with respect.
  2. Parents of Grade 3 and 4 students (except Drums and Guitar) are expected to be seated at the venue by 8:25 am.
  3. Parents of Grade 5 and 6 students are expected to be seated at the venue by 11:25 am.
  4. Parents will be not allowed to enter a venue once the performance has started.
  5. RFID card will be checked at the school entry and exit.

It is our pleasure to announce a grand day where students will showcase their talent and learning through Tarang 2018-19 (Arts and Design performances – Celebration of learning).

We heartily welcome you all to come, visit and encourage students during their performances.

Points to consider:

Inter House Visual Arts Competition- Grade 6

Dear students,

This is to announce that we have decided the dates of Inter-house visual arts competition.
As per last year plan this year also we will consider forwarding winner’s artwork to the“Camel art contest”.
It will be held between 1st October– 19th October 2015. You will be allotted two Visual arts classes as per your regular timetable.
Please go through the information given below carefully.

Topic

Ganga- The river of life: Ganga is a river of life for all Indians and is a reflection of Indian culture. Let’s pay our tribute to this holy river by creating a work of art that describes it the best.

Usage of material

  • A3 size paper sheet

  • Pencil, eraser and sharpener

  • Poster colours/ watercolour tubes or cakes/ colour pencils

Venue

Palette (Visual Arts room), ground floor, block 2

Note

  • It is mandatory for all students to participate in the competition.

  • Students who remain absent on the days of competition will not be given any extra slot to complete and submit their artwork as we are bound by time limit.

  • The material will be provided by the school for all the participants but, apart from the paper sheet, if any student wants to use personal material from the ones mentioned above will be allowed to use.

National level event “Japan On Canvas 2015”

National level event “Japan On Canvas 2015”

Dear Parent,

This event is a unique kind of sequential event of our cultural activities, which aims to motivate students to explore about Japan and spread awareness about Japan, Japanese culture & traditions among Indian students. In this competition students have to do a research work on the given themes via Internet facility, school library, and discussions with their teachers etc. Students have to draw on the canvas, their ideas and thoughts about Japan and It’s culture what they have explored.

This competition is an In-house competition.  It will be held in school before August 5 th  , 2015. Interested students need to give their names to Virendra Kanadhia, Visual Arts teacher by 3oth July 2015 in Visual Arts room between 9: 00 am to 10:00 am

JAPAN ON CANVAS 2015– A National Level Painting Competition

Participation fee for each participant is 100 INR.

The paintings will be sent to Haryana and  judged by eminent artists, who will select first, second and third prize winners and 2 consolation prize winners from each category and best 40 paintings (20 paintings from each category) will be exhibited at various galleries.

What will the classroom look like in 2030 ?

IB World magazine would like students to submit a piece of art, illustrating what they think the future classroom will look like. All illustrations will be considered for the front cover of the September 2015 issue.

Submitted art may be shared withing the magazines, as well as across our social media channels.

Please Note:

Submission should be an original piece of an artwork.

We are open to receive paintings, drawings, graphic designs, computer generated images, etc.

The image must be at least A4 in size, and if supplying a digital image it needs to be 300dpi.

Last date of submission is 15th July, 2015.

Grade 4 Drama Assessments guidelines

Dear Parents,

Grade 4 students have their drama assessments as per below schedule,

6th April Day 1- Tenacity, Valor,Courage,Mettle and Responsibility

7th April Day 2- Fortitude,Resilience  and Freedom.

Assessment Task: Students are asked to perform any one form of theater learned in drama by forming groups on their own and selecting the script by themselves.

Students are already preparing for their assessments in their drama class in groups formed by them and will be performing on the dates given.

Note: There is no compulsion for costume, It`s their choice if they want to wear one. It`s a request to parents that if they decide to wear a costume kindly  support them for same. Make sure they are present on the day of assessment.
